Amazing, dreamy hotel

Posted May 27, 2017
What a great experience from the start. This hotel is a very low key hotel with amazing beach access and beautiful grounds. You are treated like family by the whole staff. My husband and I will definitely be coming back again! Thank you Kaanapali Beach Hotel! Mahalo

Older hotel, but well maintained

Posted May 23, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Needs a little updating.
Location: Walk on the beach first thing every morning. Coffee and shopping at Whalers Village
6th time staying here. Though it's a older hotel, it has decent rooms, with an excellent courtyard and pool. Steps from the beach. Close to Black Rock. Best bang for the buck compared to anywhere else on Kaanapali Beach.

Great Hotel

Posted May 21, 2017
My husband and I loved our stay here. The location is great. Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff was polite and helpful. We met some locals when we were ziplining, and they told us we chose the best hotel for our money. That says a lot. We will be staying here next time we visit for sure.

Nice hotel, close to the beach.

Posted May 21, 2017
This hotel is right on the beach. Has a real Hawaiian feel. They have hula dancing each night, lei making classes. They are rich in tradition of the Hawaii feel. Rooms are comfortable, slightly out-dated. The pool is small but having access the the beach was a plus. The elevators are slow. The grill by the pool was great- nice selections. The restaurant and bat were also good.

Great location and price

Posted May 18, 2017
It's not as nice as some of the surrounding hotels but for the price and location it's a great deal. My only complaint was that the A/C didn't quite cool the room enough. The pool is small but good for little kids since a lot of the pool is less than 3' deep. The beach cabanas are adorable and the staff is very friendly. Would recommend if you're on a budget and would stay again.

Truly Hawaiian experience

Posted May 18, 2017
Pros: See above.
Great hotel! Older and not as glitzy as the others on Ka'anapali beach. Beautiful grounds that are in constant great condition by the staff. There is a feeling of old Hawaii exhibited by the pictures and artifacts displayed in the lobby and the buildings. There is nightly entertainment featuring Hawaiian entertainment. Hula, slack key guitar, Ukulele. The staff is wonderful. Where ever you go in the buildings or on the grounds you are greeted with "Aloha!" or good morning / evening and a smile. This is not just an act directed by management. I walked by one of the main house keeping rooms and heard a large group of grounds and housekeeping staff singing in Hawaiian. It doesn't get more real than this! You can go elsewhere on the Ka'anapali beach hotel row and see waterfalls, gardens, pools and play areas for kids, and many are beautiful but you don't get that true ALOHA feeling! Highly recommended! We keep coming back here. 7 times so far!

Great hotel on beach for value

Posted May 18, 2017
Being reasonably priced this hotel far exceeded expectations making it a an excellent value. Free nightly entertainment, great staff & grounds. Located on a nice beach. The pool was never crowded. Concierge services, on site shops and restaurants made things very convenient. Some may have problems with the "dated" rooms but they are clean and comfortable we felt right at home for the nine days we spent here and would most defiantly stay here on our next trip to Maui.

Pros: Best beach in Kaanapali.
Cons: Hotel is worn and outdated.
Location: The real draw here is the beach.
Reasonable prices. Wonderful grounds. This is an older, very worn hotel, but the location is excellent.

Most Hawaiian hotel on Maui

Posted May 17, 2017
Pros: I felt like I was in Hawaii when I was there. Anytime I was at any of the other hotels it felt like I could be anywhere.
Cons: The lounge/pool area...a hot tub would be nice.
Location: Great location...walking distance to Whalers Village and walking distance to bus stop that gets you to Lahaina for $3/person
Overall hotel is very dated, but Hawaiian at the same time. No microwave in our room, no tub (only a shower) and now hot tub outside only a pool - a simple pool with no slide or anything.

Loved it!!

Posted May 10, 2017
Pros: Staff hospitality, Hawaiian influence throughout the hotel & staff, the beautiful grounds - lots of places to lay in the sun or shade - BEAUTIFUL!!
Cons: Better breakfast buffet with hot breakfast at a more reasonable price. The pool is nice but much less than other hotels in the area.
Location: Location was great. Loved the walking area all the way down the beach, to Whaler's village and other hotels along the beach.
Loved the hotel and grounds. Staff was wonderful in every way. Pool was plain (nothing fancy), food was overpriced. Breakfast buffet was not very good and it was expensive. Other than that, everything was perfect! The location was great. If you have a car, we would highly recommend the valet. It's only $2 more than regular parking and was well worth it! The hospitality of the staff was the BEST!!!
