Careful about Tuesday check-ins.

Posted Apr 7, 2017
Pros: It would be a very nice place to stay... If this was a perfect world. Just chill and enjoy the beach.
Cons: Are you kidding? Try informing guests better on what to expect for Tuesday or late night arrivals.
Location: I guess the beach is close.
The hotel/condo office is closed on Tuesdays. They have a special phone to call across the street for someone to advise you on how you can get your keys. This just gets your Maui vacation stay off to a negative experience, especially when you finally get your room key and it does not work (like mine didn't) and discovering that your room was not 100% ready for your arrival. The properties across the street do their best to help but.... BTW, complaining wiill not get anyone help you better. Hang Loose...this is Maui.

The place is nice

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: It was clean and comfortable
Cons: Just information about the resort
Location: The location wasn't bad. About an hour from the airport but close to lots of activities.
They shouldn't say they are beachfront when it's the office that's beachfront. They should also be more clear on the smoking policy. It's not just the rooms that are non smoking it's the entire resort.

I stayed for four nights here and on the 3rd night, a mouse sneaked into the TV stand and kept on making noise at night which woke us up too many times. We called twice to switch room.

Thank you for visiting Kahana Villa. Please accept our sincere apology for the unwanted visitor. Our robust pest control service is typically very effective at keeping the native wildlife outside where it belongs, and we are sorry you were subjected to the intrusion.

Not Handicapped accessable

Posted Nov 12, 2016
It was beautiful property and nice rooms but you can't expect a handicapped person to walk up and down a flight of stairs to get to the bathroom and bedroom when they are not able to walk very good. There was no one on site in office 3 out of the 5 days we were there and had to go across the street for a new key. All in all it was an ok stay.

a BIG disappointment

Posted Sep 18, 2016 on Hotels
the Bed was the only comfortable piece of furniture in the condo. the living room couch and chair were terrible. the ice maker didn't work, the toilet broke and our view was of a wall. the overall condo unit was dark even though fairly spacious. the pool was decent as was beach access from across the street. The front desk was friendly from sister condo across the street as the front desk here was usually closed. when we arrived I asked if we had a view and was told those rooms are given away on Saturdays and since we arrived on Monday we got what was left which was very disappointing since we had reserved in April for a September arrival.

Aloha. Thank you for your visit and feedback. We regret that we fell short of expectations and apologize for the maintenance issues in your guest unit. We certainly understand your disappointment at not receiving an oceanfront view and would have been happy to accommodate had one become available. Thanks again for sharing your comments. We wish your visit had resulted in a happier experience.

If you're looking for a decent place, this is it

Posted Aug 14, 2016 on Hotels
I was just satisfied with the hotel and the conditions and the amenities of the hotel. The location was prime. It wasn't on the beach but it was located in the back of the beach and beachfront hotels. You don't have to hear the daily noise of the people at the beach, which is what I like. However, there was stains on the carpet, the towel rack fell down on a daily basis, the televisions in the bedroom and living room had channels that froze (it wasn't a big issue because I watched a total of two hrs of television on a weeks vacation). The biggest grievance was the lack of air conditioning. The wall unit was in the living room and the bedroom was in the front area of the condo. The fan ran on one speed: very slow. However, it had a four option speed and all options ran on VERY slow. I have acid reflux, and I have to sleep in cool and cold conditions, every night to get good rest. I couldn't sleep. I had four attacks in six days. I had someone occupying the sofa bed in the living room area, and they got the cool air. I, occupying the bedroom, in the far part of the condo, slept in sweat and heat. The hotel claims it has air conditioning but it should state: limited air conditioning. Had I known this, I wouldn't have rented a room from this hotel.

Aloha, Marc. Thank you for visiting Kahana Villa. We are sorry to hear about the exacerbation of your acid reflux. From your description, it would appear your air conditioning unit was not functioning properly. We would have been happy to address the challenge while you were on property or move you to a unit whose air conditioner provided more cooling relief. We appreciate your feedback and hope you will give us another opportunity to make a more favorable impression the next time you're on Maui.

Condo

Posted Aug 8, 2016
Pros: Location and the staff.
Location: Beach was across the street. Close Lahaina which is where a lot of activities are available. Snorkeling, whale and dolphin watching, dinner cruises.
The resort put us in a single bedroom unit instead of a two bedroom unit. They compensated us by giving us the condo next door which was nice and fixed the problem but unfortunately separated my family. The Master bedroom did not have any air circulation and was always warm. Ceiling fan did not work. The location was perfect and the staff was very accommodating. Overall it was a good experience.

Across the street from the beach

Posted Jul 14, 2016
We were pleased with our stay at kahana villas. We were upgraded from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom condo for no extra charge. The condo was very nice and comfortable. The only problem was that the 2nd bedroom was really warm and the AC system was only downstairs so it got warm upstairs. The pool was average however we spent most of our time at the beach so it didn't really affect our stay. We would recommend this place due to its affordability and overall accomodations.
