Hotel closed and I was given no refund!
While being evacuated from my home in Kula, Hotel rented my family a room in this hotel that was also being of Maui forcible evacuated by the police due to a natural disaster then informed me there are no refunds! It’s unclear if this hotel burned to the ground. Being forced to pay for a room in a disaster area that cannot be used or accessed feels like a corrupt business practice, or sort of like stealing.

Should be called Breakfast & Bed!
Very nice inn with comfortable rooms but the thing that really makes this place is the on-site restaurant and the full breakfast with choice of five gourmet entrees. The Eggs Florentine won my wife, but I couldn't decide whether I preferred the incredible French Toast or the Croquet Monsieur (excuse my spelling). Of course you can also go healthy and try their homemade granola and yogurt or the simple smoked salmon on fresh bagel. No matter your choice, everything comes with fresh fruit, juice, and their own Hawaiian coffee. In the evening Gerard's Restaurant (on the premises) is expensive AND worth it! By far the best restaurant in Maui and one of the best French restaurants we have ever experienced. The desert menu is incredible! Okay, enough about the food. The hotel itself is nicely located in the center of town, within walking distance of all tourist attractions. Unless you need the "resort" experience, this is the place to stay for a romantic get-away like a honeymoon.

Excellent hotel for couples
An excellent hotel for those who want to stay in Lahaina and be close to restaurants and shops. Not for those who want to walk out of their hotel onto the beach. They do have a sister hotel in Kaanapali where you can stay on their beach and use their hotel. The pool at the Plantation Inn is very nice.

Mahalo Plantation Inn
My wife and I have just returned from Maui and our stay at the Plantation Inn. We both enjoyed our stay immensely. The location was perfect - only a block away from the bustle and noise of Front street, and with easy access by car and with plenty of (free) parking on site. My wife was immediately won over by the quality of the island themed furnishings and the proximity of the shaded lanai on the ground floor to the garden to the pool. The spacious room size, effective soundproofing, aircon and breakfast were all pluses. Not to mention the helpfulness of Herb, the Manager, as well as Donna and Angelica and Lynette. We had dinner at Gerard's Restaurant (a separate business in the front of the Inn) as a treat on our final night, using a $50 certificate we were given upon check-in. 3 courses at Gerard's was not inexpensive but the food was excellent, which compensated for a slightly obsequious waiter. We did take a peak at the other small hotels and B&Bs we had considered, and I can say that we chose well. We loved our stay on Maui and actually could not fault the Plantation Inn. You get what you pay for. I'm rating it a 5 on each scale. Highly recommended to anyone who appreciates a small hotel or B&B holiday over a condo or resort.

Great Location
A very comfortable, small hotel close to the waterfront ,shops and restaurants. Quite a few honeymooners were there during our stay. A nice pool and excellent breakfasts. We prefer this style of hotel to the large resort types just up the coast. However, you do need a car to get to beach and snorkelling spots.

Great Stay at the Plantation
We had a wonderful stay. The Inn is located about a 3 minute walk to Front Street. The breakfast was gourmet but limited to a half-dozen items. Parking was free but guests are asked to tip at breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend this Inn to anyone.

Palantation Inn iProximate in the middle of Lahina
We enjoyed our stay and the food was very good for breakfast and dinner. Gerard's Restaurant was really high end and very enjoyable. We sat on the porch which has about 8 other tables. Prices are high but the food is great. The rooms was good sized and we were in a room upstairs with a nice balcony overlooking the pool. We were here in March and the pool was not heated which kept us from going into the pool We would stay here again if going to Lahiina. Everything is with walking distance. When we wanted to go to Kaanapali Beach and shopping we took a public bus with a $2. per day pass.

The Planation Inn - Lahina, a definite must stay
We had a wonderful stay at the Plantation Inn. It is a very adorable little hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and the bed was so comfy. We had a room on the ground floor by the pool with a spotless lanai. The staff are more than welcoming and very helpful. The location is great right in the middle of everything but being a block from Front Street we didn't hear any noise at night. The complementary breakfast in the morning was delicious and because it's not open to the public it was also peaceful. We would have loved to stay longer. We would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Stay here for the top class breakfast (included)
We booked a room for one night in peak season - which was all that was available. A bit pricey for us, but we got a surprise: a free upgrade to a suite - maybe someone cancelled. A suite has a bedroom, bathroom, and a large combined kitchen/dining/living room with all mod cons such as oven, dishwasher, insinkerator, etc, everything you could want, EXCEPT a kettle to boil water! We used a pan on the stove, or a cup in the microwave (no mugs, just silly little cups). It was way above our usual standard - but I guess it was normal for many people. The hotel looked like a colonial building, but is only built in that style and is actually fairly new. There is a nice terrace and a small pool, and a lovely jacuzzi. Breakfast (included) is outside on the terrace by the pool, supplied by Gerard's restaurant (top quality, numerous stars) at the front of the Inn, but the brekkie cook isn't the dinner cook - I had a "croque monsieur" that took half an hour to arrive, and it resembled a fried cheese sandwich sitting all alone on a greasy plate. They had decaf coffee, real milk, fruits, etc. and brekkie was a leisurely affair. The hotel is squashed into a couple of small lots, some rooms fronting the street, some a carpark, and some, like ours, overlooking the side carpark and garbage area (ie there was no view that you wanted to look at). The furnishings were sumptuous and comfortable, ample pillows, great bed. Aircon worked very well - we got cold! The decor was gorgeous and extremely clean. We were just sorry that we weren't there long enough to use all the suite's facilities. One thing - there is no lift and no-one to help with the luggage, so if you are staying on the second floor as we were, be prepared to lug your heavy case up 2 long steep flights. The best thing was that after we checked out, we put our luggage in the boot of the hirecar and spent the day walking around Lahaina, doing tours, without the hassle of having to find parking: we left the car with it's "guest" notice in the hotel carpark. Parking in Lahaina is difficult - you pay per hour, or move every two hours (they chalk the tyres). Many hotels in Lahaina do not have carparking, or you have to pay to park, or you have to find a place on a street near the hotel. At the Plantation Inn, there is plenty of carspace, and it is free.

Plantation Inn Lahaina - breakfast by the pool
I loved this place-my room had french windows that opened onto a little patio (lania) with easy chairs, across from the pool. It's about a block away from the main street and shopping area, which runs along the shoreline, but is very quiet. The garden is enclosed, with the swimming pool set into it, and a substantial and delicious breakfast was included in my room rate, and served by the pool. Staff were friendly and helpful.

A Nice Stay
On the plus side, the location was perfect. It was close to the action on Front Street, but tucked away in a residential area, so it was peaceful in the evenings. The staff was friendly and willing to help. The reason I didn't rate it a 5 was that the little things didn't quite live up to a top B&B. The wifi connection in the room was a source of constant frustration. There was no privacy on the lanai. The furniture arrangement was a little weird. We had a nice stay. It's the little things that separate a very good inn from a great one. The Plantation Inn is very good.

Great Place to stay
Great place to stay and very friendly staff. When we asked what time we need to leave to catch a 9:30 AM flight they told us about 7:30 AM and then said, so you will miss breakfast that starts a 7:30 so we will bring something to your room the night before and put it in the fridge. Very nice staff.

My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Plantation Inn. Beautiful & comfortable room, the Gerards restaurant was an added bonus, excellent food. Location was 1/2 block from downtown Lahaina, yet quiet/ comfy 24/7. The staff was very knowledgeable and more than willing to answer all of our many questions. Love this place.
You need to know what your mission is, if you want to go to a property on the beach and just kick-it by the pool/beach all day this is not your cup of tea, if, like us, you want to be walking distance from everything this place has a great location. Pool was nice don't get me wrong but I believe a hotel should be a comfortable launch point for your explorations. good wifi and good parking, limited at hotel but I parked just outside my door every nite. a lot of properties advertise "heart of Lahaina" but take a closer look, some r not honest. The only bad thing for me is I smoke, and if u do u need to leave the property to do so, but the property is small and this is no big deal. Travel tips: Rent a car! driving is not bad at all, take the drive to hana to the seven pools, a little while passed Hana doing the northern road, HWY 30 to 380/30 to 36, go to the pipiwai trail and DO the 2 mile hick to Waimoku falls!!!!!!! I've seen a lot in my life but this is COOL! It's. U need to hike and cross steams so be ready. Take the southern road back, a bit hairy and some unpaved and a lot to skinny for 2 cars! but it's like a desert back there, different climate totally! and u will miss the tourists taking the north road home, if ur like me u cant put a price tag on that!! snorkle is north on 30, just keep driving towards Kahana andnever leave the 30, eventually u will come to a forested area hike down and its great diving place, cheap!! Aloha

Charming Inn
We had a wonderful stay at the Plantation Inn in Lahaina. We were surprisingly upgraded to a suite when we checked-in. The rooms were beautifully decorated, new bathroom with double showers, flat planel television with cable, a private lanai, and a mini kitchenette to top it all off! Breakfast was served by the pool and provided a filling start to each adventure. In the lobby by the pool area there's a little bookshelf with a good selection of tour guides and books for you to go through and borrow/take. Staff was very friendly throughout our stay.

This bed and breakfast is beyond words. The price is more than reasonable considering the accommodations and location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is walking distance from Front Street where all the shops, dining, etc are located in Lahaina. Gerard's (the restaurant located on the property) is outstanding and is the source of the breakfast provided in the mornings. Unlike other B&B's you have a choice of multiple items to choose from for breakfast. I love to visit Maui and will definitely be back to this B&B!

Just absolutely "lovely"
Based on other reviews, I knew we would not be disappointed with The Plantation Inn, but we didn't expect it would take our breath away! It is an oasis in the busy town of Lahaina. We walked each day or evening through the town stopping in shops or restaurants and then back to the Inn for a swim in the spotlessly clean pool. Such a pleasant change from staying in big concrete resorts. We did go to the "sister" resport, Kaanapali Beach and stayed about an hour. It was busy, loud, food and drinks mediocre and overpriced...and the pool, understandably had a film of oil across the top. We rented a car and drove to less crowded beaches each day. (Big Beach-Wailea and the blowhole/pools on the NW coast!) Plantation Inn had a cooler for us to use and provided towels for the beach. Breakfast was delicous, served on the patio beside the pool and again a nice change from the "eat-all-you-can" buffets. Everything about our stay at the Plantation Inn was better than we expected.

A great home base for Lahaina, Maui
We wanted to be close to the Lahaina harbor to take boat trips (whale watching, snorkling) and the ferries to Moloka'i and Lana'i, not on some resort beach and the location was excellent for that. It was a beautiful place with all the amenities we expected and then some. Only negative: there was a beautiful pool but in January the water was too cold for anyone to swim in it.

Your own private resort in Lahaina
We would definitely stay here again! My husband and I have been to Maui many times and have always stayed in large resorts or condominiums in Wailea or Kanaapali. We always find ourselves drawn to Lahaina, but this is our first time staying there and the first time at a B&B. We were very pleased with the Plantation Inn. It is about 1 block from the Ocean and downtown restaurants, shops and galleries. It was perfect for walking around town, and then going back to the Inn to relax by the pool. We had a lanai room, which was large, but the bathroom was a bit small - no bathtub. The room had air conditioning and a mini-fridge, which was nice for chilling cocktails to take to the pool. It also had a sofa, desk, and large seating area on the deck. The WiFi was free and easy to use. The pool and hot tub were clean, quiet and relaxing, which is due in part to the fact that there are no children at the Inn. We had the pool to ourselves every day even though the Inn was mostly full. Parking was free and covered, which kept the car cool. Breakfast was provided. The selection was small, but tasty. A coupon for dinner at Gerard's restaurant is included (great food), but you must purchase a 3 course meal. While it may not be a savings, you do end up with a lot of food for the money. The only "complaint" is that they don't have a business center for printing boarding passes. We were able to convert our passes to PDF and email to the front desk to print, but that was done for us as a favor.

Everything about this hotel is great - from check in to check out, the staff was extremely friendly, knowledgable and helpful, the complementary breakfast was very good (from Gerards - the very, very good French restaurant connected to the hotel), the maid service which was impeccable, the location is just a 2 block walk to Front Street, the ample complementary parking, the 24 hour pool and hot tub, the coolers you could borrow and load up with ice for a day at the beach which were complementary, and the overall charm and appeal of the rooms, the grounds and the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Plantation Inn. It was in a great location, within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in Lahaina. The first night we arrived, we ate at the French restaurant on site. The food and atmosphere on the porch were fabulous! It was very quiet and peaceful. Nice quiet pool and great breakfasts. Only problems, we could have used a ceiling fan and the room decor could have used some updating. Still, we would return. Very nice!

Back for fifth anniversary, great place, would go back
Short = great place, great value, absolutely recommend Background = was at Maui for our honeymoon and back for our five year anniversary, also took the twin sister and brother-in-law. Honeymoon was at Napili Shores, switched to Plantation in for the anniversary. Key considerations: The free parking, breakfast, and wifi make the price a great value. Great access to downtown Lahaina (2 block walk), but without all the noise. Comments: Very quite, very relaxing. We had the lower rooms (12&13) with access to the pool in 10 feet. Again, being that close you might expect it noisy, but it was extremely calm. Room 13 decor was more contemporary, 12 was more dated but may just be a style difference (still well done, but felt old styled). Staff was very nice and always willing to help out. Towels easy to get even for the beach. Could use a few more electrical outlets.

Sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel
