Remote quiet and relaxing

Posted Jul 11, 2017
Pros: location, pool, setting
Cons: Having a closer usable beach
Location: Hiking, exploring, photography, beaches (by road), interesting, small lunch places tucked away in remote places
A decent hike by road or a spectacular 20 minute flight from Kahului, remote setting, 70 acres for 70 rooms and well spaced out, although each bungalow comprises two suites, so not completely private unless you book both suites.

Great resort in Hana

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Pros: We stayed in one of the cabanas near the pool, and loved the setting, convenience and service.
Location: Hana is remote and hard to get to. But well worth the trip if you have time and energy. Lots of beaches and hikes to explore down there.
It is really the only big resort in Hana, so if that is what you are looking for, it is your only choice. That said, it is expansive with great ocean views, great rooms and great amenities. We loved it.

Best Service in the most Hawaiian place left

Posted Jul 6, 2017
This place has the friendliest, most helpful staff I've experienced anywhere, which is helpful given that Hana is almost other-worldly isolated from most of Hawaii by a 2.5-hour cliff-side drive that many find unnerving. If slow, isolated, and relaxed are what you're looking for, Hana is where you should be looking, and the Travaasa is the place to find it. Be aware that none of the accommodations in Hana have A/C, which is thankfully rarely needed.

Great Location & Customer Service, Food Needs Help

Posted Jun 2, 2017
Pros: The customer service was outstanding! Everyone was kind and a free shuttle with umbrellas, chairs and towels was provided to a fantastic beach.
Cons: Food was lacking. The hotel food was very expensive and the second option was slightly cheaper with far less quality.
Travaasa Hotel has wonderful facilities, excellent customer service, and is in a beautiful location. Hana is a quiet town which is great for a tranquil and relaxing visit. If you need activities, the hotel provides games plus the hiking in the surrounding area is gorgeous. My only wish is to have better food options, especially for dinner. There are food trucks for lunch on most days but dinner is always between the one onsite and one offsite hotel restaurants. The onsite is very expensive where the offsite is slightly cheaper but the food quality drops dramatically. Staying for 3 nights made me feel food trapped. Good, reasonably priced bar food would have fixed that feeling in a nano-second.

Best choice at the end of Hana Road

Pros: Decorations inside the room, the lovely center garden and distance to the beach park.
Wonderful place to stay after a hard drive from Hana Road! A few minutes walk to the beach park.
