Nice budget hotel close to the beach and market

Posted Jun 20, 2015
The first day we arrived we had a problem to open the little lock but we got help from the staff. The hotel room was clean and kitchen fully equipped. No air conditioning but not a problem because there was a nice breeze outside from the patio. Also beautiful garden and beautiful ocean view. No beach just ocean. If you want beach view don't come here. But if you can drive beach is 5 minutes. Nice businesses around like flappy cakes and market to buy food

Hotel Management problems

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: Good location and clean rooms.
Cons: Someone needs to be available on-site to assist guests with the basic services that are available at other hotels.
Location: The location is good with only a short drive to the town of Lahaina. Fret place to watch the sunset.
The Aston Paki (I don't even think it is called this anymore as the hotel has changed ownership) has very confusing management issues. From what I can gather different parts of the hotel are owned and managed by different companies. After a long flight we were unable to enter our room as the key is locked in a box at the door which requires a PIN number which we did not know and were told it should have been sent to us. The reception staff told us they do not manage the hotel and we would have to call a differnt office to get the code. I explained that we had just got off a flight and did not yet have phone access in the US so they phone for us, after two trips to the room on we finally managed to get in. The girl on reception told me "you should have booked through us" after seeing the look on my face she added "only joking". On checkout I again went to reception to hand in the keys and was told to take them back up to the room as they don't manage keys, I asked them to confirm if we owed any money and they told us we would have to go to the Mahana Hotel as they manage the Paki. It turned out the Mahana Hotel do not manage the Paki hotel either but at least they were kind enough to call the office that do to confirm that we owed no further money!

A little get away

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Please note that this hotel does not have a.c. However there are 2 ceiling fans so it isn't unconfortable. I wish we stayed longer to test out the kitchen which is fully stocked and ready for you. Our friends who needed a place to stay for a night was able to come spend the night due to the siZe. It was comfortable and Accomodated 4 people.

Great for the money

Posted Sep 23, 2014 on Hotels
Close to, but much quieter than Kaanapali Beach hotels. No sandy beach for sun worshippers. Well maintained landscaping. LARGE room for the money with a beautiful view of Molokai. Just 5 or so minutes from downtown Lahaina. We'd definitely stay there again for the price.

Maui vacation

Posted Aug 31, 2014
Spent six nights at the Pakey Maui "condominium. Room on the fourth floor far away from the elevator made it difficult going up and down. Room as well appointed and nicely furnished. Curious thing was being an Aston rental unit, there was no one at the hotel desk to help you only a phone number.

Not worth the money

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Rooms look NOTHING like the pictures. Bathroom was small and didn't have a shower/tub combo like the website says. Bedrooms had no doors. And there was no A/C. The rooms were extremely hot. There are tons of hotels and condos in the area.. You can probably find a better one near by for a same price.

The location of the hotel was great.

Posted Mar 1, 2014
Pros: I believe I said it all above.
Cons: I said it above.
Location: We loved walking to the grocery store and the farmer's market across the street. The bus stop was near and helped us get around.
Everyone who worked there was wonderful and helpful. BUT our condo really needed a good cleaning -- drapes were dirty and carpet was old and filthy and needed replaced badly. The dishes were all dusty in the cabinets when we arrived and we had to run everything thru the dishwasher before we used them! Not what we expected for the $$$$. It was not cheap. If things were changed and upgraded, I would recommend it to friends and even go back. You just could not beat the location and the ocean at the back door. The concierges were all terrific as well as the desk staff. We know there is new management, and we hope they bring this beautiful place up to beautiful standards. Thank you for a warm and sunny two weeks away from snowy and cold Michigan.

Beautiful view

Posted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: Location!!
Cons: Some of the older rental units could use an update.
Location: Beachwalk is a short walk away and goes for miles along the beautiful shoreline.
This is my 4th time at Paki Maui. I will always come back here. My condo was a little sparse, not many dishes and things needed to cook with. The unit was dated and could use some attention, but it was clean and comfortable. Anything that I felt was lacking was handled well by the staff. The workers there are very friendly and do a great job keeping the tropical foliage looking beautiful. Can't beat the location, close to a grocery store and good restaurants right across the street. The organic market is wonderful as well with a great salad bar. The view from the ocean front is great!!! I really like the tide pool right under the beach wall. During the right season you see whales and there are always sea turtles in the morning. If you are a smoker however they are very restrictive in the policies. No smoking anywhere even if you are outside right by the ocean. Made me feel unwelcome in that respect. The garden view condos have a great view as well, palm trees and tropical plants fill the area. There is even a nice koy pond and waterfall to look at.

Overall was a very good stay. Our first room had dirty carpets but the staff was quick to come in and shampoo carpets while we were out. The second room was beautiful with ocean view I would stay again
