Surprised at check in.

Posted Feb 19, 2017
Pros: The staff is friendly & our housekeeper was exceptional. It has nicely kept grounds. We ate breakfast on site once & it was very good.
Cons: Have website show exactly what type beds are there. Take care of maintenance issues.ie: if you paint a baseboard, paint the whole thing so it matches.
Location: A small protected beach is at rear of the property. Lots of restaurants & shopping nearby
We found out at check in that there are no queen beds available (at all) & our only option was a king for an additional $150. for the week or 2 double beds, they blamed Expedia :-(. The room had a nice ocean view and it needed some minor maintenance. I work in a 4 star hotel in Sacramento Ca. so I notice issues probably more than the average person, but the sliding glass closet doors in the bathroom should be obvious. The rail supporting them is rusted out & could come out & fall if someone isn't careful. The treadmill also didn't work properly in the fitness center. The pool was nice but the gunite is flaking away making for a rough surface. The ground are very well kept & it is centrally located.

Good location and price for quick stopover

Posted Feb 6, 2017
Friendly helpful hotel staff and shuttle driver. Nice grounds near water. Convienient location near mall and rental car pickup. Need to add continental breakfast with at least coffee juice. Also need to have option for meals at restaurant not just a buffet. Too expensive and don't want to eat that much Need some cleaning of corridors and remove carpet from rooms. Beds were comfy.

Good as a home base for the day

Posted Jan 31, 2017
We just spent the day here as we had a red eye flight out. Clean enough beds but pretty run down hotel. Our window was so dirty we couldn't see out and there were a few small cockroaches.

Disappointment in Mauui

Posted Jan 19, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: The rooms need to be updated.
Location: Close to everything.
Don't stay here if you have any options. The hotel is basically an overpriced Motel 6. The rooms are outdated (old carpet, stained sinks and counters, etc.). The reception clerk was efficient but had zero personality. They have loads of parking; but, charge you to use the lot. Good location.

Fine for one night

Posted Jan 19, 2017
Pros: Proximity to airport, low price
Cons: It's looking pretty rundown, the beach access could use some cleaning up.
Location: There are a couple strip malls with drugstores, groceries, and fast food with a few blocks.
When we were looking at this hotel's reviews, many guests said it was fine for one night. They're right. It's a decent hotel which is very close to the airport. As we were scheduled to land after 10pm, we just wanted someplace clean to rest our heads for the night. There are several spots within easy walking distance (4 blocks) to get some food or sundry items if you need them and don't have a car. They have an airport shuttle but it stops running, I think at 8 or 9 at night. However, since the hotel is so close, the cab fare is very inexpensive. There is beach access, but it' very small and filled with litter. You will not want to swim or lay out there. Staff was fine and the room was clean and comfortable but I wouldn't want to be there for more than one night.

needs renovating

Posted Jan 19, 2017
Pros: The lobby, courtyard, and lobby staff
Cons: Needs renovations - rooms and hallways seem outdated
Location: Close to some attractions, such as the road to Hana and Iao Valley (this was closed while we were here). It is very close to the airport which is nice
The staff were friendly; The lobby welcoming. Our first night was in an upgraded room. The room was bigger and had a nice view of the ocean. The next 7 nights were in a smaller room and had a view of the parking lot and a busy road, so it was noisier too. We first noticed an odor, but later that was rectified. The shower area was not very clean. There was a broken drawer on the desk. The beds were always nicely made. Location was convenient. The courtyard was nice, too. I feel this hotel would benefit from renovations.
