hotels and nearby

Pros: i liked the cabana and i also liked how clean the grounds were. the kitchen was very nice to have and the temperature in room was comfortable
Cons: i wish there was a nice restaurant on the grounds. also wish they served alcohol
Location: great snorkeling at kapalua bay. good food in lahiana
the hotel grounds were wonderful. the proximity to beaches were great as was the cabana. the cabana should serve drinks. rooms could use more towels ( i know we can call housekeeping but should have had 4 house towels and 4 beach towels)

Good for budget travellers

Posted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: Location to other hotels. Good beaches. Excellent sunsets. Close to groceries.
Cons: Update rooms. Check for bathroom mold. Improve beds, lumpy and hard. A/c is loud , not steady.
Location: Good location. Most other resorts in area much more $$$$. Close to Honolua bay, slaughterhouse, DT Flemming and black rock.
Studio room is small. Some rooms nicer than others and some are very dated. Check pictures! Stay in J building!!!!!! Bathroom mold evident. Mildew smell. Good location- close to black rock (although there are way better places to snorkel!) These condos are far from beach , having to walk past a group of course. There is a cabana for guests. Closes before sunset. Excellent place to watch sunset. A good choice for those travelling on a budget and wanting a kitchen and laundry. Uncomfortable bed. A/c loud and does not work well at night. Not certain we would stay here again.

Very nice place to stay, to far from the beach

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: Large rooms
Cons: closer to the beach
I liked the place a lot. would be hard for older people to get around the hotel. I would prefer to stay at the place closer to the beach. Close to shopping and other sites. You will need to rent a car to get around island

I would have spent a bit more for something better

Posted Jul 23, 2015
Pros: The location was nice, but there was a minimal beach. The cabana on the beach is very nice; it's a great place to escape from the sun.
Cons: Much of the place could use updating.
Location: Shopping and restaurants are nearby as are many good beaches.
It was most disappointing. We did not get the room we booked. Instead of a two BR/two bath for 2 adults and 4 teens, we got 2 one bedrooms for our family vacation (NOT a good idea to have teens in a room by themselves!). Also, the one unit did not even have a separation between the bedroom and the living area. Room cleanliness was lacking, they smelled "old", and they were certainly not up to date. We were told the rooms were next to each other, but the doors were at least 35-40 feet from each other. Between the two units we had, there was filth on the curtains, stains on the rugs, fingerprints on the underside of the glass dining table, and a VERY smelly shower curtain. BBQ tools were not available in either unit. One unit had a broken toaster; another did not have a cookie sheet on which to bake things. Wallpaper in the kitchen looked as if it were from the 80's and the grout between the floor tile which I believed was light in color at one point, looked like the color of a penny. Our "partial ocean view" was really a small fractional ocean view--we saw mainly golf course and buildings. The outside looks as if it hasn't changed much since the place was built in the 60's.

Nice hotel, loved having a kitchen, lots of space!

We got exactly what we expected. Our main goals were to be able to cook our own meals, do our laundry, and have enough space for us and our two girls. This hotel met all those goals! Pools are small, but I wasn't there to swim in a pool! About a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. If that's too long, the staff would drive you in a golf cart! Overall, we had a great experience!

Pros: Very quiet with no crowds like the resorts on the water. Everything you need is just a few minute walk away.
Cons: Knowing specifically which TV channels are available. Very confusing having a complete guide on the TV and not knowing which ones you can access.
Very impressed with the size of the studio we stayed in. We would definitely stay in it again. The concierge was very friendly and helpful in setting up activities. Her presentation was very informative. Our overall experience on Maui was very very good from the golfing, snorkeling, helicopter ride, and the Elvis show to the shopping and restaurants on Front Street in Lahaina and at the Whales plaza.

Not a bad place to stay

Friendly staff and the complex is old but fairly well maintained. Please keep in mind that you will be charged for house keeping ($95) but that is for clean up after you leave. Also, parking is $12/day.
