Maui is paradise regardless of where you stay...

We stayed at this B&B for 10 days. I knew the place was for sale and had my concerns since I read that for that reason it seemed like the owner does not care that much about guests. Now, the location is good. You can walk to Lahaina main strip and Old Lahaina Lua (which I highly recommend you attend). We were also pleased to received breakfast vouchers ($10 each) to go to Lulu's Restaurant and were not disappointed. The food was local and great!
In general our stay was OK. We were not planning on staying in the room most of the time so it served its purpose. However, I would not recommend the place because they lack attention to details that should be a given. For example, when we got there we noticed that towels were not clean. We were not staying in a 5 star hotel but were expecting as a minimum cleanliness. Also, even thought we stayed longer than 4 days and they promise to clean your room after 3 or 4 days we never received a single maid visit. There are a hundred notes advising you what do and what not to do (remember there is no reception or anyone on site most of the time) so the little notes everywhere made sense. However, it seemed to me it was a one-way communication -they expect certain rules to be followed but they did not adhere to the promises they made.
In general the stay was OK..Penny's Place would be a great place to stay if they go back to that that customer-service approach that gave them good ratings a few years ago.
