ITEMS STOLEN AT LA PIROGUE

Pros: The ground are beautiful. The food was pretty good.
Cons: Hire people that do NOT steal. Improve the entertainment. Entertainment was awful. Get an Entertainment Team. Music at the pool.
Location: Nothing to do nearby. Pretty beach. That is about all
Because I had a late flight, I arranged to stay at the resort a few hours after checkout. I had placed most of my jewelry in my locked luggage but had left out my earrings and finger rings (all of which was of modest value). It was not until 3 hours after I surrendered the key to the room that I realized that I had left the finger rings behind in one of the coffee cups in the room. I returned to find the cup had been washed and the rings were gone. I immediately went to the front desk to report it only to find that the person who cleaned the room had left for the day, obviously with my rings in their possession. To date, these rings have not turned up in spite of an “investigation.” (The manager told me “you should have used the safe.” How if I had already checked out?) I can state and the resort is fully aware that whomever cleaned that room and washed that coffee cup had taken those rings. When you take something that is not yours, it is STEALING. In all of my travels I have stayed in well over 100 hotels from 5 start luxury to apt-hotels just one step up from a hostel, some with safes, some without. Never anything taken. NEVER. In my opinion, it is a sad testament to the disdain for the guests and the total disrespect for their employer that a staff member would think nothing of pocketing items that were clearly not meant to be left behind and then lie about having taken the items. All I can say is “visit at your own peril.” THIEVES!!!!!!!! SHAMEFUL

Although we regret the loss of your rings there is no evidence for us to incriminate any of our associates who had access to your room. For the entertainment, I am sorry you did not find this up to your expectations as in addition to the live band and shows each night on the dance floor the evening continues at the beach bar until the early hours with a variety of musical entertainment to suit any mood. ein wunderbares Hotel in traumhafter Lage

Pros: Das hervorragende Personal. Unser Frühstücksober wusste bereits ab dem 2. Tag unsere Vorlieben (z.B. Tee, Kaffee). Highlight: Kochkurs kreol. Küche!
Location: Man kann vom Hotel aus am Strand nach Flic und Flac oder nach Tamarin laufen (sehr schön!). Fahrten mit Bus (sehr billig), Taxi (sehr bequem), Schiff.
Der Tipp kam von meinen Eltern, die wohl acht- bis zehnmal im Pirogue waren. Noch als sie alters- und krankheitsbedingt nicht mehr reisen konnten, schwärmten sie uns immer von diesem Hotel vor und drängten uns, unbedingt einmal dorthin zu fahren. Das haben wir jetzt (nach ihrem Tod) getan und wir waren begeistert: Ein Paradies! Das super geführte Hotel liegt in einer hervorragend gepflegten Anlage direkt am Meer. Da der Küste ein Korallenriff vorgelagert ist, kann man wunderbar (und vor allem gefahrlos) im Meer schwimmen, tauchen und schnorcheln. Wir haben auch die vielfältigen Angebote des Hotels genützt: so haben wir u.a. im Glasbodenschiff Korallen und Fische aller Art beobachtet (kostenlos!). Besonders gut hat uns der Kochkurs (kreolische Küche) mit anschließender Kostprobe gefallen (ebenfalls kostenlos). Obwohl wir Golfspieler sind, haben wir auf das kostenlose Grenze verzichtet und haben lieber die Insel selbst erkundet ( sehr empfehlenswerte Rundfahrten in den wilden Südwesten und in den Norden nach Port-Louis und Pampelmuse). Besonders genossen haben wir die angenehmen Temperaturen, zumal es jetzt zu Hause kalt, dunkel und nass ist. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt nächstes Jahr wieder.

Beautiful surroundings

We went to this hotel for a wedding Rooms are great,we had a beautiful view of the sunset everynight Beach is very clean Scuba diving from the hotel was well worth it. We saw beautiful eaglerays,sharks,lion fish,stone fish just to name a few things! Free green fees for the golf is a bit misleading. They forget to mention that the golf course is on the other side of the island and will take you at least 1 1/2 hours to get there ,if not more, but that being said it was worth the trip as it is quite spectacular. We went swimming with the dolphins in the ocean,again we had a great time. Only draw back is the fact you have to sign for everything, even if you are all inclusive,this makes it very time consuming. Service at the main beach bar was a bit slow.

La atención ha sido muy buena en general, la única personal que hablaba en español era Sandra, y su atención ha sido espectacular, pero no ha estado todos los días de nuestra estancia.por lo que la comunicación no ha sido muy buena.

newly decorated accom overlooking trees and beach

Very comfortable accommodation newly decorated. Small patio area outside room with chairs and table. Variety of sockets in room including English. Lots of light variations. Truly recommend.

Fabulous grounds, beach and hotel

Perfect in winter. Not too hot, not too cold. Beautiful and large grounds, excellently kept. Link to Sugar Beach enables even larger space for movement. Perfect unbusy beach. Good free extras. Food priced ok.

Fabulous hotel with relaxed vibe

Cons: our room could have done with a bit of updating but the price probably reflected the condition. We were very happy with it and an excellent bed
Location: take a taxi or tour around the South West of the island - fascinating; and do go snorkelling and swimming with the dolphins
There is a lovely laid back feel to La Pirogue, yet the staff are very responsive, helpful and so friendly. The grounds are wonderful (old coconut plantation) and it is on the beach. in addition the food is very good.
