Pros: The rooms were comfortable, the bedding clean and the location was great.
Cons: The bathrooms are really small.
Location: You are only a few hundred metres from everything that matters.
The hotel was clean and comfortable with a great location for the station and the historic city centre.

Perfect location, clean, safe, and a good deal.
Posted Feb 15, 2018Very happy with our choice to stay at Amba. There is nothing negative about our stay or the hotel. Perhaps the best thing is the good feeling we got knowing that the amenities plus location were worth more then we paid.

DON'T STAY HERE
Posted Jan 18, 2018 on HotelsWe booked a room with a bathtub. The receptionist confirmed as much when we were checking in, before giving us a room without a bathtub. They agreed to switch rooms, except the plug from the bathtub was missing. They said that the maintenance crew had left, and they'd fix it in the morning.
Which was a lie. We went downstairs, a different told us that *SHE* was not the one who promised to get it done for us. I asked her very nicely to make a note so that it gets done the following day.
The plug was *still* missing the next day! Yet another receptionist, kept shrugging and saying 'Ok' and "maybe tomorrow", and told us she was alone. She turned to leave, and I asked if she was going to make a note for us, and she made a tiny scribble.
In the morning, a fourth receptionist told us that she was alone and couldn't do anything. An older lady came (so much for being 'alone') and told us that they didn't have the staff, at which the receptionist, not knowing I understood Deutsch, said 'That's what I keep telling them" while rolling her eyes. The manager lady then told us that she was aware of our bathtub problem, and that they had been meaning to fix it for a while.
To future guests: don't stay here if you can afford it. If they offer room 118, kick up a fuss at the lobby if you really need the bathtub, because THEY ARE VERY AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND WILL LIE TO YOU REPEATEDLY ABOUT IT.
Lots of steps everywhere too just to get to your room, even after exiting the lift.

Price per value out of balance
Posted Dec 4, 2017 on HotelsThe price per value is a bit out of balance. Also, I specifically asked for a quiet room and they placed me into a room facing the street, even though they also have rooms facing the courtyard. So basically I wasn't able to get any sleep during my stay. The breakfast was ok though. Water in the shower was either too hot or too cold, it was really tricky to get it on an ok level. As I was there for business I just wanted a place to stay near a meeting place, sleep well and get something to eat in the morning, so it could have been worse.
