Fantastic stay. This is much more than a hotel, this is a home away from home. The service is superb, the facilities are excellent, the room could have been bigger, but hey, this is Europe, don't expect Vegas-sized rooms here. Overall, though, they do go out of their way to make you feel special. Highly recommended.

"Pure Elegance in the Heart of Mayfair"
I hadn't stayed at the Connaught in about 15 years. It will be a much much shorter hiatus the next time. The hotel was even more elegant and wonderful than I remembered.

"6 days in London"
The Stafford Hotel is perfectly situated between Green Park and St. James Street. Easy walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Mayfair, Fortnum and Mason, Jermyn Street and Pall Mall. All staff are extremely courteous and attentive. The American Bar is the perfect place to begin or end an evening, and they serve delicious American hamburgers. The breakfast service and content was a bit spotty, but the dining room was quite busy. Upon arrival the room was available after only a short wait. Guest rooms could be a bit larger, and a full length mirror should be installed, but overall the room was comfortable with all the amenities.

"Nice boutique hotel in Mayfair"
Very nice establishment cenrtal to Green Park and all the activities in and around Mayfair. Rooms are small but nice. Service very good. Overall price doesn't justify tight space. Not even close to being price competitive to similar boutique hotels in other European cities.

""Great Location""
The ppl that work there are amazing and well educated. From the doormen all the way to the lady that clean the rooms are very polite and with a lot of patience. There is a guy that works at the lobby Mr. Faisal, I was asking about some directions of how I have to get to the supermarket & he was so nice to give me a couple of bottles of water, he was very polite and educated, we began to talk about our countries.. The location of the hotel was magnificent : infront of one of the corners was the Hyde Park Metro, our view was the Wellington Arch, the other you could see the Hyde Park, just a few blocks the famous Picadilly Circus, 2 Tesco (supermarkets) & so on.. They treat me like a queen & im very grateful.

"Weekend in London"
Excellent high quality hotel right on the edge of Park Lane and Hyde Park. Unfortunately this hotel is having major renovations and the reception area is very restricted at the moment, so quite tight for getting past when others are checking in and only one lift, so long waits at times, hence the average score on hotel facilities. The renovations did not affect the room which was excellent (but we did stay at a weekend and there didn't seem to be anyone working on them). For a special weekend away I would probably come back, but the renovation work did affect the overall impression of this high quality hotel.

"Mostly good news"
On the whole, our experience was very good. The location is convenient to just about all that you might want to do in London--museums, shopping, theater, music. The hotel is clean, well-staffed with polite and considerate employees, and offers a pricey but excellent breakfast. I needed two superior doubles for my family. The hotel promised us a queen in one room and gave us a king. The other room was set up with two twin beds at our request. All the beds were comfortable, although perhaps a bit on the soft side for some sleepers. Both rooms were equipped with safes, small refrigerators, and hot pots for making tea or coffee. Storage was minimal. Instead of dressers, the rooms had closets with shelving. This would have been fine for a two or three day stay; a bit skimpy for a week. My only significant reservation about the hotel is the form over function design of the bathroom. A large raised bowl-sink looked great but eliminated a great deal of the counter space available for toiletries. The tub/shower also looked good but was hazardous to enter and especially to step out of. The tub wall was very high; the tub's bottom was very high in relation to the floor. This meant taking a very large step over the tub wall and then down to the floor--a bit of a challenge for those getting on in years. In fairness I should note that the second of our rooms had a tub/shower that was much easier to access. So, this problem may be specific to a handful of rooms in the hotel.

Pocket Guide: Mayfair, London Business Hotels

Famous for its hotels, Mayfair holds London's most expensive homes and, on Bond Street, its most expensive shops. But the tucked-away pubs, restaurants, and shops of atmospheric Shepherd Market offer affordable local colour, too. Sandwiched between several main roads, Marylebone has a village atmosphere and a charming High Street. Nearby attractions include Madame Tussaud's and the Georgian splendours of Regent's Park, including London Zoo.
