Not recommended at all.

Pros: Unfortunately I thought the pictures looked good and it was convenient.
Cons: It should be torn down to the studs and redone or money ahead if demolished and rebuilt, or the land sold to the high school next door.
The have taken an old 1960's Holiday Inn motel and tried to install a new bathroom counter top and throw some paint around on old beat up plaster walls. There were probably only a dozen male guests staying there so that should tell you something. The lobby and breakfast area were filthy with flies galore. On top of it there were some local unemployables around the pool smoking with the hotel staff. Most women would not feel safe staying alone here, unless they had their CCW.

Room very clean. Staff was helpful. They have a small gym and an outside pool. The breakfast is decent and available early in the morning.

I think this may have been a name-brand hotel that was abandon and someone else bought it and is atempting to clean it up on a shoe-string budget. A cheap name brand would have been better for less $$$$.

we wont be staying there again

The pool was under repair, we booked a non smoking room and when we got there the room had never been reserved so they put it us in a smoking room without telling us because they had no more non smoking king rooms, we had to clean the shower because there was some kind of white paste on all the shower walls, and we had to request extra towels because there was only one towel in the room on arrival.

HORRIBLE!

Posted May 19, 2015 on Hotels
The stay was horrible. The staff personnel at check in (1:00 a.m.) wanted to charge my credit card again even after I showed the receipt from Hotels.com. He insisted that I use their worn out desk top with horrible internet to print off the receipt from my e mail and was still reluctant to honor the reservation. I had to press the point and finally got the room. There was no ice and the ice machine in the lobby was not working. I was directed to the filthy "kitchen" to an open dirty bag of melted and refroze ice! No thanks. The internet connection was so slow carrier pigeon would be faster. In the morning (8:00 a.m.) before check out I was woken up by house keeping and ask that they do not disturb. She returned again in 15 Minutes and opened the door and yelled in the room repeatedly while I was in the shower. If I had not had a bag in front of the door she would have come in on me. She continued to enter and I had yell/scream at her to go away! I went to the desk and asked to speak with Mgmt. and met the american English speaking housekeeper who said that she was told to knock twice and enter the rooms regardless if you have checked out or not! The desk denied this and I had to remind them that I was not checked out and check out time was 11:00 a.m. The staff was pathetic, unprofessional, unreasonable and uncooperative. There are many fine hotel chains in the area. DO NOT STAY AT THIS ONE.

I had a business meeting in Mayfield. I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It has been newly renovated. Rooms were nice and new, bed was comfortable, free wifi. I will use them again.

Hotel with a friendly feel

Posted Apr 29, 2015
Pros: All the above, plus relaxed feel, rooms were kept clean, stocked with coffee. Each room has a fridge and microwave, iron and ironing board.
Cons: The pool was not functioning when I stayed there but this didn't impact on our holiday.
Location: The inn is situated in a rural area, there are no restaurants in walking distance, but I believe there is a plan to open a restaurant on site soon.
I have just returned from a group of quilters who wanted to visit the Paducah Quilt Show. After failing to find a hotel a year ago, I found the Wingfield Inn Mayfield. Although it was a 45 minute drive each way to and from Paducah, I think we got to experience how friendly and helpful Kentucky folks are. There was nothing the staff would not do for us, good breakfast, fresh coffee and cakes on arrival back each day, individual requests all met. Even the maids came out to wave us off. Would we stay again? Oh yes!
