Nice hotel, not so nice staff

Pros: amenities
Cons: housekeeping staff
Location: everything is close!
I know this hotel since I was little. I really love it and find it really comfortable. but this last time the cleaning staff was rude and unproductive.

Not at all what it claims to be, horrible!

This place is overbooked and understaffed. NOT ALL INCLUSVE as it claims. Poorly staffed, including lifeguard. One day person pooped in pool, area evacuated without signs. Guests had to be ones to keep people out of water. One hotel maid per room, our rooms often cleaned late in day. Kitchen in La Portella is digfusting and staff do not follow hygiene guidelines. Rooms have not been updated, other than TV all of from 1980. Two small elevators not enough and scorching hot. Don't do it!!

Our team members, specialists on their respective area, are specifically assigned to deal with high season occupancy, and regularly I personally take specific areas to supervise everything is working properly. I would also like to inform you that we are working on food and beverage quality, continually improving our food handling procedures reviewed by an external certification company “Crystal” to keep always high standards of quality of service. Thank s for letting us know and bring our attention to these issues. In regards to pool hygiene we feel very sorry for the inconvenience this may have to you and your family, unfortunately is out of our control. Every guest is much than welcome to our home El CID Resort and we make a big effort to let them know our policies and procedures of quality to ensure they follow the rules. Party in the lobby all hours of the night. Woken up early everyday. Couldn't have our brother come see us in hotel for an hour.

Not a place for people from USA

Pros: nothing
Cons: staff needs to be better prepared to deal with out of town people from the USA
this is really a resort for locals. The staff is NOT setup to help people that are not from Mexico and that are not doing the all -inclusive. They give you NO information about how that place runs. do not recommend for people going from the usa.

My wife and I returned to Mazatlan to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. It is the city where we honeymooned back in 1986. 30 years later, Mazatlan has grown with new construction. Bigger and better! Safety concerns have been raised recently, however our experience was safe and enjoyable. There was security presence throughout the city.

El Cid is an AMAZING Resort!

Pros: Security!!! Pools, Food, Drinks, Cleanliness around the Resort.
Cons: What can improve is the quality of mattress, pillows, sheets and bedding... Cleaning the rest room better.
Location: Location was PERFECT! you have plenty of restaurants to choose from, stores to shop and Oxxo to buy snacks.
My Experience at El Cid was AMAZING!!!! The staff was very friendly and did their best to make us feel at home. Having security 24 hours around the Resort made me feel way more comfortable and at ease. Room service was on point. As well as cleaning service!!!! They have all the activities their at the Resort no need to leave unless you want to explore Islands and the town. All the locals were also very nice and looked out for tourist. My kids had a blast at the pool and enjoyed the water slides. Service by the pool was also on point!!!! The view from the room was beyond BEAUTIFUL and PEACEFUL. My room was near the Elevator, but we had no problem with noise through the night. I did experience a problem with the AC making noise I called it in the next morning they had someone in the room in 15 minutes fixing the problem which was resolved by the time I came back. AWESOM!!! Mazatlan is an AMAZING place to visit I will definitely return with my family, its really safe. Thank You to all the staff who helped us and greeted us and treated us very well... You all definitely made our experience at Mazatlan very pleasant.

Nice hotel, close to the beach but the staff seemed eager to get tips and the club representatives that received us were trying to get all kind of money from us, internet is $10 a day per device, so you cant even share it with family members. Trully a shame bc the pool is gorgeous and the location is great. The food could also be better.
