"Outstanding Service"
Stayed in the Tower D in a one bedroom suite on the second floor. Very comfortable and spacious. They have all the comforts of home like dishes, plates and silverware but don't have salt and pepper and shampoo so if you need those while you are there, you can pick them up from the little market they have on the property. This condo is about a 35 minute drive from the airport and about 20 minutes from the silver strand with shops. There really isn't anything within walking distance from this place but you don't need to go anywhere else because the wait staff is phenomenal and so is the food at the Palapa Bar and Grill. Sitting by the pool for the two happy hours is fantastic 12-2 and 4-6. Don't miss the 2 for 1 drinks during those time slots.

"Upgrade appreciated"
As the hotel prepared for their annual employee Posada party on the back patio, we were unexpectedly transferred to a room in a newer building. It had a refrgerator, a better shower, and an ocean view, all of which we really appreciated. The only inconvenience was not being able to make even local calls from the hotel room. Apparently there is a pay phone in front of the hotel which requires a special phone card but the lobby staff didn't know where to buy one.

"Great location, excellent staff, needs a remodel "
Overall the trip and hotel were great. Positives: the employees were all fantastic and so helpful. The food was really good. The drinks were excellent and you are literally right on the beach and can play beach volleyball while enjoying a cocktail or five. Negatives: the water pressure was super low and the water was only warm, never hot. Not sure if the water pressure issues are true for all of Mazatlan. They could not provide us with any keys for the room safe. I had to carry all our money and passports with us and didn't feel comfortable having the room serviced. The wifi was spotty once you were out by the pool. They also wouldn't provide bottled water but I did drink the filtered water without any issues and you can buy bottled water for practically nothing across the street. Bottom line: we would definitely stay here again just for the great service although I really hope they fix the issues with the water and the room safes.

"The Very Best. Hands Down"
Spent six nights at the Casa Lucila Boutique Hotel and the experience was top notch. The location is absolutely ideal, being away from the touristy Golden Zone. It's at the very south end of the Malecon, but about 100 yards or so off of the busy main drag that runs along it. Walking distance from El Faro, the Merchado, the best restaurants, and the beach. The property only has 8 rooms and we stayed in room #4, The Esther. The whole property appears to be newly remodeled. Everything is modern, beautiful and well maintained. Our room was very spacious. Had a walk out to a shared balcony with three other rooms that overlook the ocean on the 2nd floor. The service could not have been better. At the restaurant downstairs, we had dinner there once, drinks on multiple occasions, and breakfast every morning. Our usual waitress' service was exemplary. On our next trip to Mazatlan, I can't imagine staying anyplace else.

El Cid Castilla and Moro are close to many restaurants and shopping. Most are within walking distance but many different modes of transportation are available. Old buses are the least costly and readily available. Hotel is right on the beach.

"Nice Hotel with nice placement on beach"
The Hotel is located across street form a long beach that connects the Old Historic Town from the newer Gold Coast areas. Has pool. The beach is usable although we had rough waves when we were staying there. Everyone kept telling us about more protected beaches, but we didn't really find, or they were an "at the moment", and gone . The hotel had parking which was a big plus here, it is difficult to park many places and even some hotels. It was a little far about mile and half to start of Gold Coast (north) of two miles to Down Town. In both those places parking can be difficult. No problems with hotel and several of hotel and restaurant staff spoke english which was helpful, more then once. We did start walking most places, just to avoid having to find a parking spot. Public transportation if available everywhere, although we didn't use, you could get by without a car.

"Beautiful resort"
We were there for 10 days on a all-inclusive package and had a wonderful time. We found the staff exceptionally helpful and friendly, with those interacting with guests the most having excellent communication skills in English as well as Spanish. The resort's 2 main restaurants provided the best food and service that we have experienced in an inclusive package. The only issue we had were twice when we ordered cheeseburgers from an outside grill, a bar, or room service, some of the patties were raw inside (but had been ordered as "medium" or "medium well"). We were impressed with the constant work being done to maintain the buildings and grounds, which gave the feel of walking through a botanical garden with many palms, bougainvillea, hibiscus, plumeria, and other beautifully landscaped trees, shrubs and plants. We were enchanted with the flamingos, swans and iguanas we found on our daily walks. The junior suite we had 1311 was very nice but could use an update with a comfortable chair, and better venting system in the bathroom and humidity control in the room (we smelled "dampness" every time we entered the room). The beds were very comfortable. We found out that other rooms of the same size had lounge chairs on their patios. We had two small metal chairs, which were surprisingly not too uncomfortable, but nowhere in the room was there a chair which would allow us to put up our feet. We met wonderful happy people, most of which were timeshare owners that have be
