This hotel is in the Zona Dorada -the Northern end of Mazatlan, opposite side of old town & the malecon. This hotel is near all the night clubs and bars. Hotel is beachside & near many restaurants. We were in a suite on the 17th floor, which had an ocean view & overlooked the pool. This was pretty noisy most nights - even on the 17th floor. The room in the hotel is lacking as far as amenities. The setup is nice, it's large, kitchen/dining area, living room w/sofa bed, extra loveseat, coffee table, tv and large mirror. There is ample closet space which is nice, it has drawers as well as a hanging area. There is an iron & ironing board. The bathroom & shower is large which was nice and there's a door separating the toilet from the shower/sink for extra privacy. The bedroom has another tv, desk, loveseat, dresser drawers, two bedside tables and a large lamp. There is a sliding door that leads to the balcony that overlooks the pool & beach. There is a Starbucks coffee bar downstairs, but other than that you have to walk anywhere to get anything else, no mini-mart or essentials store on site. Cons: 1. Unfortunately, the sliding door in the bedroom wouldn't close all the way or lock so we had a draft every night and had to turn off the a/c because it got too cold. 2. The front door didn't deadbolt either, which meant the maid or anyone with a key could come in at anytime, no extra security. We didn't have a privacy door tag either. 4. No utensils/plates/coffee in the kitchenette.
