Overall, the property is really nice and clean. Where the service needs to be improved is in the food quality and variety. The meat served was always dried and hard to chew. And more local cuisine wouldn’t hurt. Also, the cleaning ladies must do an effort to be nicer to the customers.

Property on the beach front was good. There was abit of noise in the evenings loud music. There was no option to book for bed and breakfast. I only managed two meals and one breakfast in my three days of stay. Therefore there should be an option to book bed and breakfast in the expedia.com platform as opposed to full board accomodation.

Every Grey Cloud has a Silver Lining
1st. Reception needs to work on their hospitality. They do not give a warm welcome. I don’t know if it was because my nationality or race. 2nd. The room my husband and I were assigned was infested with bed bugs. This came to our attention at 3am when we were getting bit everywhere. Upon discovery we asked for another room. Was given an option of 5 or 6 different rooms. First room that was right next to ours was being treated for bed bugs (so though Receptionist no knew of this she still put us in the room right next to it). We know this because the room was disheveled and reeked of bed bug treatment spray. The next four or five rooms was not only a downgrade from our original room but also cleanliness was below par. Tired from walking and getting lost in their maze we were going to settle was a partially clean room. But turning on the AC made this loud noise and bad smell. We had our last straw and firmly requested a room of equal or more value like we paid for. Minus the bed bugs, the broken AC, and half cleaned bed and bathroom. Finally was given an adequate room. 3rd. Manager did do its best to rectify the situation the following day. ***SILVER LINING*** 4th. The food was excellent FIVE stars all the way. Everything was clean plates and utensils and eating area. Food staff was even better. Very polite and helpful. 5th. Entertainment staff were great and fun. 6th. Pool and beach area allowed for great relaxation and at times fun games and activities.

Thé staff is wonderful…. I mean EVERYONE. zpolite, helpful and attentive to your needs. Property is well kept. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling to the area.

I had stayed in Hotel Saly (connected hotel) twice and had a great experience. Filous is more "gentrified" clientele and the food is little more geared to European tourists (blander food Euro disco music etc.) The rooms are spacious and the pool is large and beautiful. Beach access is available but the beach is honestly not great for swimming. On October 6 , 2019 I found bedbugs in room 317, so stay away from that room or adjacent rooms for the short term. Management immediately moved me to another room that seemed to be ok. I hope that the hotel takes proper measures to correct the pest problem as Saly is a really nice spot in Senegal!

Great friendly staff, clean hotel
good size room, modern style and clean, was was cleaned daily. Great food selection from buffet, and extra snacks provided out side of meal times. We stayed all inclusive so could get local beer wine cocktails and there was always soft drinks tea and coffee available. The staff made our stay, even tho they couldn't all speak English they really tried and still included us in all activities. This hotel was fantastic in our eyes the staff want you to have fun and enjoy your stay which we did.

We had a lovely stay at this complex; it's bang in the middle of the village so a great location if you want to explore, but also really secluded and calm inside if all you want to do is relax by the beach or pool. The two pools and bar/restaurant areas are well laid out with lovely views, and the options to sit by the beach were also very welcome. Lovely, helpful staff (although for obvious reasons easier to communicate in French than English), above average food for a hotel buffet (the chicken dishes, melon, and desserts were a particular highlight although we mainly ate in the village), and friendly, affable service at both bars. Rooms are spacious with big beds, nice bathrooms, and (for us at least) good wifi and airconditioning. There are also two little shops onsite if you need to stock up on beach essentials or buy gifts, although obviously you can also do this at either of the two supermarkets in the village. The village itself is a typical Senegalese mixture of modern life and mild chaos; you'll get some hassle but it's pretty friendly, a firm "no merci" will do. The hotel will book you a taxi if you don't fancy taking your chances at the town square/car park where the most persistent drivers hang out to tout for service. The Holidaze supermarket on the way out of town is better stocked than the Casino one and has a lovely wine bar on site (the wine here is all superb). We found Le Cafet' great for typical Senegalese lunches and good coffee.

Nice for a getaway
Very nice private resort. You walk out of your room and there is the ocean! The private beach is well kept and the grounds are lovely. I chose the all inclusive package of a room and all meals. The meals were good and the wait staff very attentive. The staff at Reception, at the beach and in housekeeping were all friendly and attentive. I had a massage which was quite nice. A very nice place to spend a weekend to refresh. Depending on traffic it is only a 60 - 90 minute drive from Dakar on good roads.

C'était un séjour agréable dans l'ensemble je ne regrette pas ma venu au Filaos. Le seul bémol c'était qu'autours du buffet à volonté il y avait des mouches dans les salades de fruits j'ai interpellé votre serveur mais il n'a rien fait de concret pour cette situation. Je pense qu'il faudrait mettre des couvercles au lieu de laisser les films sur les bols qui s'use après deux trois utilisations.

J'ai séjourné pendant 3 jours dans cet hôtel. J'étais en formule petit-dej et j'était dans la chambre 26, située dans un endroit calme. Mohamed (à l'accueil) est très serviable, il était là pour répondre à toutes mes questions et me conseiller concernant les excursions. Ma chambre était spacieuse, il y a un frigo et le ménage y était fait chaque jour. Elle est équipée d'une TV, mais il n'y a pas beaucoup de chaînes et le jet de la douche est assez faible. Le buffet du petit-dej est varié. J'ai diné une fois au resto le soir, c'est également un buffet. L'équipe du petit dej est très cool, mention spéciale au chef, à (Abdou)Laye et Babacar qui sont très sympa. La piscine de l'hôtel est sympa. L'hôtel ne dispose pas de plage directe, il faut aller du côté du Club Lookea pour pouvoir se baigner. Les 2 hôtels communiquent et il est possible de profiter des restos des 2 côtés et des animations aussi. L'Hôtel est très bien situé dans Saly, proche de petits restos, boutiques, casino, Auchan, banques... J'ai pris la navette offerte par l'hôtel A/R (50 000cfa) et j'ai bénéficié d'un late check-out (30 000cfa) car mon vol partait à 22h15. J'ai fait une excursion avec Excursions Sénégal. Il y a des affiches qui résument les excursions proposées et c'était super.

Arrivé à l'hôtel "le Saly" où j'avais réservé au cours de la nuit ,la réception me fait savoir que je ne figurais pas sur la liste de clients pas plus qu'à l'hôtel club "les filaos" s'agissant de deux structures gérées par une seule direction. Une chambre m'a toutefois été attribuée. Deux jours plus tard on m'a fait savoir que mon séjour serait facturé 6 euros de plus par jour et par personne au Saly Hôtel que j'avais réservé par votre intermédiaire.. C'est une VERITABLE ARNAQUE que j'ai du négocier fermement avec la Direction. Par ailleurs, j'ai été fortement perturbé par les changements de vols tant à l'aller qu'au retour ainsi que leur dates qui m'ont obligé à changer mes rendez vous prévus. Le vol retour CATASTROPHIQUE m'a fait passer depuis DAKAR par le MALI (Bamako). Arrivé à TUNIS, j'ai dû attendre plus de 7 h pour ma correspondance vers GENEVE. J'ajoute que c'est moi qui ai pris l'initiative d'appeler Expédia la veille de mon départ de Genève. Une de vos conseillères (JUDITH) me fait savoir qu'il y avait un problème sur le vol retour. Je précise qu'Expédia ne m'a fait parvenir aucun mail dans ce sens. J'ajoute que j'avais demandé à ANNA (autre conseillère) d'annuler les vols avec "tunisair" compte tenu des difficultés rencontrées avec cette compagnie. On m'a répondu que ce n'était pas possible. Compte tenu de ces éléments, dont je souhaite qu'ils soient portés à la connaissance de votre direction , je sollicite un dédommagement que je laisse à votre appréciation.

Nous nous permettons d'apporter quelques explications :vous avez bien réservé l' hôtel les Filaos sur le site et vous vouliez loger au Saly hôtel, ce n'est pas une arnaque mais il y a bien une différence de prix car il s'agit de deux entités différentes .Nous vous avions accordé un geste commercial en qualité de client fidèle soit une réduction de 50% sur la différence entre les unités(ce qui équivaux a 6 euros par personne par jour) et un départ tardif sans supplément. Désolés pour vos problèmes sur l' aérien,nous espérons avoir le plaisir de vous accueillir lors de votre prochain séjour Cordialement ,la Direction
