Very friendly receptionist and clean room. The breakfast is pretty good with waffle the only missing bacon.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us. We do have bacon on certain days but tried to keep a daily rotation of breakfast items to ensure it is difference for our long term guest.

They have bed bugs

My husband and I and our three children ages 9, 8 and 4 drove up to hershey park on Saturday from Brooklyn for my birthday for the night. After a fun exhausting day we checked in to the hotel at 11:30pm. We settled in, change into our pajamas and got ready to go to sleep. My 8 year old daughter went to lay down and said there was a bug on her pillow. I went to inspect and it was a bed bug. I killed it with a napkin and called the front desk. We shook all our stuff out threw our clothes on and packed our stuff as quick as we could. We really wanted to go home but the drive was three hours and it was 1am and we were exhausted. We went to the lobby. They took the bedbug napkin and took a picture. They wanted to give us a room right next door to our original room. The two women at the desk said to each other that the people who were staying in that room were re assigned to another room minutes before we were. At 1am ?? I butted in to their conversation and asked why did they complain about bed bugs. They shook their head no and brushed me off. I told them I want a room as far away as possible from the room we were just in. We went to another room right near the lobby.We were very disappointed. It really put a damper on our staycation. I guess you can say we got some rest being all of us were paranoid thinking about bed bugs. We checked out first thing. The manager apologized and said they take this very seriously (obviously) and refunded us our money back for our night stay.

We take the issue of pest control, including bedbugs, very seriously and the comfort of our guests are our top priority as we perform regularly inspections and offer a detection training program. Our hotel also retains the services of a licensed, reputable pest control company that is readily available to dispatch trained professionals to perform appropriate inspections and treatments (if warranted) of affected areas.

2nd stay even better; stay here!

This was our 2nd stay at HWS while visiting family in Dillsburg for Thanksgiving. And as with our 1st stay, the second time was even better! We opted for a room with a fireplace which we enjoyed on a rather colder night during our stay. The suite had 2 comfortable queen size beds, a living room with TV, kitchenette with mw, dw, fridge and stove top no oven. For a family of 4, it was a good size. We had a good night sleep and it was quiet. Breakfast was excellent though an addituonal waffle iron may cut short the wait on making one. Receptionist was courteous, polite, and made us feel welcome! Customer service is what draw us back to this HWS and we were again so pleased! Thank you! We also enjoyed the green plate happy hour on Wed which had a good spread of salad fix-ins - blue cheese and steak was awesome! And the red/white wine selection was a welcome break from a long drive. Thank you for another wonderful stay! K We now have a “second home” while in Dillsburg.

Roomy hotel for large family

Pros: Space and set up of 2 bedroom suite
Perfect stay! Loved the 2 bedrooms! My husband and I had a bedroom with private bath. My 2 adult daughters had the other bedroom with their own bathroom. Loved it!

A nice place to stay - right off the freeway..

Pros: The location is good. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is great... It was quiet and comfortable
Cons: Not sure why they don't have hot drinks in the lobby -- as opposed to hot drinks that are now cold..
Location: Harrisburg is just a short drive.. Many restaurants and tourist things to do!
A convenient hotel - close to Harrisburg. It's what I expect from a Home Wood Suites.

Thank you for your review of our hotel. We do offer fresh hot coffee 24 hours a day in our lobby and cold water but I do apologize if the coffee wasn't to temperature. I do hope you let our staff members know as we be sure to replace this immediately. Huge room, very comfortable

We got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was huge. Room was very comfortable and spacious and amazingly quiet. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. We stayed there to visit Hershey Chocolate World which, with traffic during the weekday, took us about 30-40 minutes to get there. Price for this hotel vs ones closer to Hershey was about $100 cheaper, probably because there was also a big car show going on at Hershey World.

Visited Hershey, Harrisburg, and Gettysburg with family. This hotel was convenient to the highway, and close to everything.

Stay for a weekend wedding at Roundtop

Pros: EVERYTHING for us. We could park near an entrance and luggage racks were right inside the door.
Cons: We requested walk in shower which we didn't receive. I would believe this was Expedia problem and not the hotel.
Location: We only ventured to a wedding.
Stay was great and convenient for us as we are not city drivers.
