Doesn't quite cut it

Pros: Room
Cons: Wine food and service
Stayed 1 night...room great and clean with comfy bed and great view of the city. However check in was very slow, check out slower and service lacklustre. Was surely surprised to see $6 Australian wine selling for over $140....even with govt tax this is a 5 star ripoff.

I have shared your feedback with my team who are equally disappointed at the check in and check out experience. My sincere apologies for the delay. Indonesia has one of the highest taxes on wines and other alcoholic beverages. A table Australian wine that you refer to costs in the region of AUD 51. That being said, we do stock Balinese wines that is made in Indonesia and also a variety that is made in Australia and bottled in Indonesia that bring taxes and eventually cost and sales prices down. A glass of such wine that is widely popular all across Indonesia costs AUD 13 and the bottle at AUD 51. The taxes on wines is still lesser compared to spirits that makes enjoying a drink more prohibitive. This pricing is common throughout Indonesia and I thank you for bringing this up so I could clarify. Thank you once again and we look forward to welcoming you back. Pleasant stay with friendly staff

Pros: The hospitality from the hotel staff. Location is very central. Most I liked the breakfast,because of the different options and the fresh fruit juices
Cons: Swimming Pool could have a proper changing room. The room would need one or two more plugs considering the usual gadgets we have these days.
Location: The hotel is linked to a shopping mall. The eateries at Merdeka are nearby in walking distance as well as some Chinese restaurants some 500m away.
Despite having arrived early at 9.30am, the reception staff was helpful to arrange for a room directly. Everything is in order with the hotel stay. It is a nice hotel with friendly staff. Room size is a bit smaller, but it is fine. Even when the wifi signal was low at a certain time, the hotel sent the IT to install an onsight wifi switch to settle my issue directly. On another event I called the housekeeping but the telephone line was on and off, without asking for any assistance the maintenance staff rang my door just 5 mins later and replaced the phone set. Problem resolving by the hotel was very prompt. The room has a nice surrounding view, however, I was placed to the backside overseeing the Deli river. Housekeeping is very prompt for Indonesian standards. Breakfast is very good, it was one of the best on choices from my past hotel stays, with local specialities and western and fresh fruit juices. Location of the hotel is good, very central in Medan and walking distance to Merdeka. The hotel itself has good food options for those who don't like to leave the hotel. Hopefully the hotel can keep the current level and standards, I would certainly stay there again.

Hotel is conveniently located

Second time I stayed there; would stay again. Good restaurant and pool. I would recommend you get a room right off the pool. Only negative: the mall it is attached to does not cater to an international traveler (a 2 out of a10 rating). Walk 15 minutes to Sun Plaza.

terrible smell inside the room.

i book 2 rooms. 1 room for my friend was a deluxe room with a bad smell, even has ask a filter air bad odor to the staff, but still has a terrible smell...maybe because old hotelll with a 5 star of what..... ? and i also book business room for me and... i feel down when i entered the room coz its not even same from the picture when i book it. the room was not great la. same style with the deluxe room. only little little bit spacious. understand when i say little little spacious. next time not book it...dont get tempted by the picture....dont bother by it.

It has been a pleasant stay. The staff are friendly and warm. The breakfast buffet is quite nice, with a mix of western and local food. The lobby is nice and comfortable. Downstairs at Coffee Maxx, they serve good coffee. The wifi within my room is intermittent. There is no currency exchange facility at the hotel.

Good location

Pros: Good location. Easy to find food and go around shopping places.
Cons: Room looks outdated. Breakfast have varities but lack of taste.
Location: Sun Plaza and Palladium Mall having great food choice.
