Nice hotel for overnight stay at great price

Posted Jan 29, 2016
Pros: Large room and large bathroom Beautiful grounds
Cons: Rooms need modernization Fix the breakfast situation Have someone at the front desk at all times
Location: Ashland,OR is home to the Shakespeare festival every year during the spring and early summer. It is also close to snow skiing resort in area.
Stopped here for the night on the way to Salem, OR. Didn't want to spend much for the night but wanted to be in a descent hotel. Since it was the off-season for the area, this hotel had a really cheap rate offer. Hotel was almost totally vacant which was somewhat erie since it is fairly large and included a conference center in it. Room was dated (like going back to the seventies) but in really good shape. There was three of us that shared the room and there was plenty of space for everyone to move around, take shower, use mirror, use sink, etc. which was really nice. Bed slept well and since it is off the freeway a little ways, noise was nonexistent. The one bad thing about hotel was the next mornings breakfast - worse breakfast ever! Oatmeal was paste, no bacon or sausage, only hard boiled eggs (whole or chopped up) and coffee cups held a large shot glass of lukewarm weak coffee in them. Other than breakfast situation and the fact that nobody was at the front desk to check us out when we had to leave. I would rate this hotel as a very good value for the money.

What a treat!

Posted Jan 25, 2016
We stayed here on our last leg of a cross country road trip. Our night here was a departure from the many nights spent in mid-range motels. With its fun and creatively re-invented 70s decor, original artwork, sprawling grounds and excellent self-serve breakfast, it was a stand out! Courteous and friendly staff too.

We were surprised at how nice this hotel was since Expedia only had a rating of 2 1/2 stars. We were in a suite. The beds were very comfortable. TVs were high quality. Grounds were very nice. Pizza at the Northwest Pizza was Great!

You could tell the hotel was newly remodeled. Room and building were immaculate. They were doing renovations in the lobby and in another building, but we were never bothered by any loud noises or workers. If I'm ever in the Ashland again I would definitely stay here again.

Good Hotel with Wonderful Staff

Posted Dec 31, 2015
The entire stay, which was only 12 hours started with a cheery thoughtful woman telling me all I needed to get to my room and take advantage of the morning breakfast. When O got to my room, I was greeted by a beautiful well planned suite. The bed was one of the more comfortable ever (and I stay in a lot of hotels). Morning brought a beautiful view of the mountains and a fine breakfast before I was on my way. All in all a great value in a great place.

Luggage Problem

Posted Dec 30, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness of hotel and breakfast
Cons: There should be Luggage racks at the different hotel entrances as its a very long walk to the lobby from many of the rooms.
Location: N/A
Its a nice quality hotel if you a small amount of luggage and are not handicapped in any way or elderly.

Freeway convenient, clean & comfortable

Posted Dec 30, 2015
Pros: The check-in staff person was super friendly and helpful.
Cons: Parking lot security.
Location: The nearby Yuan-Yuan restaurant (we arrived late so opted for take-out) was terrible. The best restaurants are in downtown Ashland, worth the drive.
We love Ashland, but on this trip were just passing through so decided to stay close to freeway for easy off/on. This is one of the nicest hotels of that sort that we've experienced. Overall it was a good stay, the staff are excellent, the room was very clean and comfortable (although the pillows were all the same: clean & puffy but hard). The breakfast was typical and as expected. The downside is what you might expect for a freeway-close location: some noise. Also, when we were leaving in the morning we noticed not one, but two sad guests cleaning the broken glass from their vehicle windows which had been smashed, presumably from grab-and-go break-ins. Maybe that can happen anywhere, but what a bummer.

Dear Expedia Guest, Thank you for letting us know how your stay was and we are so glad that the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Our guests and staff safety and security are always a priority for us and that was a very unfortunate incident that occurred and we are working with those guests and our staff to try and ensure that it does not occur again. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you on your next trip to Ashland. Thank You

Pillows

Posted Dec 22, 2015
The pillows are huge. They are much too big for comfort. We all woke up with stiff necks or back issues. The rooms are big which is good and the breakfast was adequate.
