Don't believe the hype. It's just an average hotel

I do not review hotels often, unless one of my experiences really contrasts from the average review. In this case, the Rogue Regency is considerably over-hyped:
- Our room cards never worked on the first try (and yeah, I know about the magnetism issues with room cards. This was a problem with the way the card slots are designed, not the cards. It was annoying.)
- I ordered a single bed, and was placed in a double. Also annoying.
- The beds themselves are fine for sleeping. I'll be honest though: if you want a romantic getaway, these beds are disappointingly too soft for my girlfriend and I.
- When we ate at the restaurant, we paid cash to the waitress, but I also received a charge to the room. I was refunded a week afterwards, but this was still stealing nonetheless.
All in all, if I want to stay somewhere classy in the valley, I'm either going to the Inn at the Commons near Lithia, or the Ashland Springs. I expected the Regency to be classier, and was disappointed. It's no better than the Motel 6 across the street.
