Lovely Riad, gives a flavor of the real Morocco

Posted Oct 11, 2017
Pros: A lovely all round experience; recommended to other travellers!
Cons: add a table to the suite
Location: very central
We received a junior suite which was quite spacious and lovingly decorated in Moroccan traditional decor. I recommend to add a table to the room. Internet connectivity was good, bed was firm but still comfortable, AC worked well. Staff were very attentive and tried to please. When a taxi reservation was missed by the taxi company we were not charged for the substitution service. The breakfast on the rooftop was lovely; nice buffet style, charming environment; will be remembered!

Beautiful, Peaceful Spot in Marrakech

Posted Oct 11, 2017
Pros: The rooftop and meals here were lovely.
Cons: No suggestions for improvement, just wonderful.
The Riad Karmela was a relaxing, beautiful place to stay in the bustling city of Marrakech. The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment they came to collect our luggage and we were greeted with fresh Moroccan mint tea and cookies, and a thorough description of a map of the city and recommendation for how to get around. The staff took excellent care of us during our stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinners at the Riad which we took on the roof both nights of our stay. There is a traditional Moroccan option and a modern option, and we preferred the traditional. The rooftop was a well manicured, beautiful, and relaxing space and it is also where we had our delicious breakfast each morning. We stayed in 6 places during our journey across Morocco and the Karmela had the best breakfast spread. Our room also had its own private rooftop seating area which was lovely, and the room was perfect to accommodate the 3 of us that were traveling. This is the perfect place to stay if you visit Marrakech.

Superb, fantastic location and wonderful staff

Posted Sep 8, 2017
Riad Karmela is a wonderful, authentic, beautifully presented hotel. It is a fantastic location in the heart of the old city, very accessible to everything and gives you a real local feel. The food is fantastic, as is the onsite spa and massage, plus the rooftop and pools where you can sunbath as you hear the local mosques ring out throughout the day. Joel, the owner, was wonderfully accommodating and provided a local map on which to explore. It is a great and safe location for any solo traveler of any age. I would highly recommend, This was my first trip to Marrakesh and I would return to this place again and again.

Thanks a lot for all the nice comment and even regarding the location which is sometime a surprise. As we are in the center of the old city...some people expect that is the as the new city. It is still very popular and local people still live in a special manner not like in Europe but that is part of the "holiday"....thanks again Joel

Nothing was ever an issue and as two young girls travelling on our own in morocco they were very helpful. The Sahara desert tour we booked through them was amazing. 10/10

Riad Karmela

Outstanding service alongside superb hospitality. Upon arrival we were greeted by Saeed who is one of the managers at the Riad and was given complimentary traditional Moroccan Tea. He gave us a brilliant insight to the surrounding areas and the Market place. He provided us with maps and was always at hand when needed throughout the stay. All staff were amazing and we appreciated the help We would definitely recommend this hidden treasure to family and friends and will be visiting again in the near future.

Oasis in Medina

Posted Aug 22, 2017
Riad Karmela was a calm, peaceful, relaxing riad right in the centre of the madness. It is only 5 minutes walk from Jemaa el-Fna and close to many restaurants, souks and other things to see and do in Marrakech. The staff were extremely attentive and always helpful. We undertook 2 excursions and a hammam experience all booked through reception as well as a 3 course dinner on our final night. Breakfast was a mixture of continental and Moroccan. We ordered freshly cooked fried eggs each day to put in their delicious French baguette! The riad has a beer, a few wines and spirits available, which is rare to find in Marrakech. Our room was a very good size, comfortable, cleaned daily and replenished with soap, shampoos and bottled water (the room was called 'Hasna'). On the rooftop terrace there is plenty of shade to relax in the intensely hot sun and even a jacuzzi / plunge pool hidden in the corner, which we took full advantage of. I highly recommend Riad Karmela for a first time visitor to Marrakech and to couples.

Paradise in a bustling city

Posted Jul 7, 2017
Riad Karelia was perfect. It was our first visit to Morocco, and as the taxi drive inwards to the old city .. I began to feel a little overwhelmed. The staff at riad jarmeka, welcomed us with mint tea, parties and helped us make sense of the city. It's central enough just to pop in fir a couple of hours then come back to the little bit of paradise to relax. The perfect balance!

Highly recommended

Highly recommended - the staff speaks good English and is very helpful in explaining where-to-go or where-to-eat in a medina, which one without guidance could easily get lost. Nice breakfast with pastries and all-you-can-drink Orange juice. Riad is very pretty and nicely decorated. Room is nice and comfortable with working air conditioning.
