Business / Vacation

Terrible service and quality for the money. If you want to be upscale and charge up scale prices, you have to deliver. Disappointing. Will not return. Too many other choices.

Pros: The staff were friendly at reception but the concierge merely stared at us and never spoke to us or offered help.
Cons: The furniture and carpet was stained and the windows filthy making it difficult to make use of the view upgrade. Coffee in the room was cheap.
The hotel didn't really live up to the hype. While in a classic building the room itself was tires, worn and stained. Windows were locked so we couldn't open them and there was an oversize heat pump in the room. The bathrooms are marble but haven't been updated since the 1980s- certainly not luxurious. The pipes squealed when other rooms used them and the squeaky floors meant we could hear others next door moving around constantly.

Beautiful heritage interiors and spacious rooms

Posted Oct 8, 2017
Pros: Atmosphere of muted elegance and perfect service as well as beautiful interior fittings and spaces.
Cons: Persuade the banks to refund $50 contingency deposit the NEXT business day, if unused.
Location: Walking distance to all of the CBD, trams, Federation Square and Gallery.
Everything extremely efficient and courteously carried out. Loved the luxury of concierge and wide hallways, high ceilings and sumptuous room.

Pros: Great accomodation and location.
Cons: Not overly impressed with breakfast dining experience.
Location: Location is outstanding. Free tram is a bonus as it takes you to most places you wish to go. Great dining spots close by as well.

Pros: Location and the old world feel.
Cons: I understand that renovations are planned in the near future and after that project is completed I believe the hotel will have a restaurant.
Location: Location is great, close to every thing you need in the CBD.
The whole experience was great. The check in was very pleasant and the room was excellent..
