A classy mid-city apartmentPosted Aug 9, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: The new washing machines need instruction books. The card readers in the lifts appear to need regular cleaning as they were unreliable
Location: Mid-city, close to restaurants shops and all forms of transport. Trams at the door.
We stayed 8 fays in our Somerset apartment and can not speak highly enough about our visit. The room overlooked Elizabeth Street and we ciuld see down towards Flinders Station. Despite the busy world outside the apartment was always quiet and comfortable. Being mid-winter we needed heat in the room and it was always easy to set a comfortable temperature. Desk staff were always friendly and attentive. We did have cause to ask them to fix a minor problem and they were prompt and efficient.

Location is good. If you're a light sleeper it might be a bit noisy (ie road noise), but essentially nothing to complain about.

2 bedroom - Fantastic Location, SpaciousPosted Jun 30, 2015
Staff was friendly and had no problem with us leaving baggage for the day before we went to the airport. Can't ask for more for the location, just underneath The Emporium and next to H&M. will stay again.

Great apartment in the middle of CBDPosted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Two bedroom apartment was clean, tidy and modern. Full functional kitchen. Friendly staff. Good gym and spa. Free WiFi Late check out - BONUS!
Cons: Space was a little small for a family of 5 but sufficient.
Location: Convenient located to what we needed - theatre, vic market, shopping centres, as well as food shopping
Great location in the middle of CBD. Was able to walk to major attractions in the city. Room was comfortable and quite - was not able to hear traffic noise even with windows open for fresh air

Convenience plus!Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: closeness of the shops / theatres and eating places. Warm and clean rooms. Lots of wardrobe space and storage. Laundry.
Cons: very little space around the bed!
Location: Shopping! Shopping! Shopping! Great eateries and theatre experiences. Vic market is a must, as is the free historical tram route around the CBD.
Somerset on Elizabeth is super convenient for shopping and theatre outings within Melbourne CBD. Being able to step out of the door and be part of this amazing city was a joy ... especially as the weather meant keeping undercover as much as we could! The hotel is having a facelift at the moment, and it would have been nice to have been warned that the carpets were being replaced ... complete with scraping and gluing .... on our stay. (Just a note would have been enough!)

Perfect location and comfortable clean room.Posted Jun 2, 2015
Really glad I choose Somerset on Elizabeth to stay at and will not waste time looking elsewhere next time I go to Melbourne. I will definitely be booking here again, the apartment was large, clean and had a great shower and comfortable bed. The location was perfect, so close to many eateries and round the corner from Melbourne Central and the Emporium.

A foodie fortnightPosted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Location is definitely the best feature
Cons: Fix the second lift, and maybe a heads up when they are cleaning the pool/spa.
Location: Spitting distance from Burke Street Mall shopping. Short walk to Chinatown, and a bit longer walk to Flinders St. Station and Federation Square.
My husband and I stayed at Somerset for close to a fortnight as a base for exploring the restaurants in Melbourne. It could not have been better situated, close enough to walk to a lot of places, and right near major tram stops to get to everything else. Staff were friendly, hotel was clean. Reception staff are around throughout the night. One lift was Out of Service our entire stay which meant it was sometimes a bit of a wait, and the second lift was out of service around 10pm one night and we had to walk 8 floors but it was fixed by the next morning so it was only a minor inconvenience. Our room had a small kitchenette, bathroom with washing machine, decent sized sitting area/dining. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely use this as a base again when staying in the CBD.
