We love the Langham because of its location and the quality of the hotel. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and we had a few lovely meals at the Melba, breakfast and room service.
There is a short cut across the pedestrian bridge on Southbank that via the railway station walk through brings you onto Princess Street and Elizabeth street intersection where it’s possible to hop on a free tram toward Bourke Street near the main shopping precinct
The hotel needs a refurbishment. The rooms seem dated when compared with other Langham Hotels. The Aria Bar had torn leather chairs. Conversely, the staff were wonderful.
The hotel was in an excellent location. My room was a good size and very clean and comfortable with a river view. The bathroom had both a bath and shower and was a decent size.
Perfect location to explore Melbourne. Located right on the Yarro river with stunning views of the river and the city. Attentive staff and a wonderful room. Easy walk to the CBD. And all the foodie wonder of Melbourne.
The best bed and comfy soft pillows, not hard ones like in other hotels

Mixed experience. If you can get a 4* price it’s a good option, fab location gym pool jacuzzi sauna steam spa. Large room, river view. Decor is very dated throughout and although public rooms have been kept up, our bedroom was shabby. Housekeeping terrible, no turndown, sheets never changed in 6 days, had to ask for soap(!) and for a pen.
We had a really good time at the hotel. The room was clean and we were impressed by the coffee machine service in the room.
We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast.
You are greeted with a grand entrance staircase that invites you to take photos. We had a great room with a view overlooking Melbourne CBD and the Yarra River.
You must have a swim in the indoor pool and then relax in the spa. Highly recommend.
The Langham hotel is in the perfect Melbourne location; adjacent to the train station and surrounded by the beautiful, clean, quick or nice restaurants of Southbank and a short walk to the performing arts center.
Service at the hotel was consistently excellent, quick and polite. Gorgerous view room looking the Yarra River. I particulary enjoyed the delicious room service food (the chicken thigh and club sandwich being my favorites), but wished there was a little more variety, but still yummy and delicious food.
I parked at the parking structure across the street and found it very easy.
The pool area was clean and nice with a gorgeous view.
I definitely would stay again.
I stayed at Langham Melbourne for 6 nights. It’s the perfect location to walk anywhere or catch public transport. The view of the city and river is beautiful from the rooms. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the spa was wonderful. I’ve stayed at other Langham hotels but the staff here — especially the bell service when you enter and leave the hotel — are the best. I highly recommend!
We got upgraded to the river corner rooms and they were a good size with big windows.
We enjoyed using the pool and steam rooms.
It was also nice to be able to walk to restaurants.
My only complaint is the cleaning staff kept forgetting to top up or replace things when they service the room - coffee capsules, tea bags, rubbish bin liners, etc..

Physically nice hotel but not clean
The hotel itself was quite nice with good amenities and location. The staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with and the room service breakfast was good.
What was not good was locating another guest’s pubic hair on the bath mat when I went to have a shower. Guest services sent up a new bath mat when I called about this. The bathroom itself also had hair from another guest over the floor. From a cleanliness perspective I expect more from a 5 star hotel. While the hotel sent up a new towel, I probably would have expected something more than that as an apology in this situation such as a small gesture of goodwill e.g. dining credit or similar.
Overall did not meet my expectations of a 5 star hotel.
The hotel looks very tired but well maintained. Very dingy rooms and needs a good lick of paint. But it is very well maintained but looks it’s age.
It’s difficult to have a drink because there is nowhere to sit as the tables are booked and it looks like people settle in forever. We came back after dinner looking for a night cap and we were turned away. Parking under the hotel was $70 overnight and you self park. A bit outrageous.
Great staff - helpful and polite. Room lighting not working and no maintenance on duty to fix. Breakfast buffet very disappointing- hot selection served cold.
Beautiful clean room. The staff were so accommodating and friendly and the room service was fabulous. The Langham was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Will definitely be back for another stay.
My score resulted from not being informed of my vip benefits. It was not until i was checking out that was I reminded of my $35 benefit as I had had one item my mini bar ($7 kit kat). Also went to the bar, minimal beer choices. I can only assume that from the extensive wine selection that craft beer or microbrews do not fit with their usual clientele. None the less the property was beautiful, clean and staff were very professional and friendly.
We throughly enjoyed our stay, all staff friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable, the bed perfect, walking distance to all the best parts of Melbournes.
