Nice manor, hotel correct close to St Kilda

Posted Feb 13, 2017
Pros: Hotel of character, manor, but would really benefit some resfreshing paint.
Cons: Breakfast!
Location: In residential area, not much shop or restaurant around. Not far by car to St Kilda and city.
Quite nice looking hotel, manor, convenient parking, and location close to St Kilda. However some paint at minimum would be needed inside the hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and pleasant, but the door for the bathroom doesn't close well, there was some insect noise during the night near the bed. The worst was the breakfast starting only at 8am, supposedly for fresh products, however was very poor: no fresh orange juice but something not even tasting good, no pastries but only some bread for toast and no fresh jam, no fruits, .... really not for value! Not a 4 stars hotel!

Close to everything.

Pros: Great proximity to everything I needed.
Location: Australian Open, great food district & shopping.
I felt very comfortable there for the week. Apart from a squeaky floor board or 2 (which is to be expected of an old building) I couldn't fault it.

Comfortable old manor house

Posted Jan 29, 2017
Was staying in Melbourne to visit friends. Hotel is an old manor house! It is close to the train station and shops. Easy to get to and close to the city! It can be a little noisy due.to the trains, however this wasn't an issue for my friend and I! Rooms need to be renovated but otherwise was a nice place to stay

Nice comfortable room (except for the pillows) with everything that we could want provided.

Not bad, but not great either

Posted Dec 17, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Location, bed comfort, facilities nearby, decent WiFi in room
Cons: Dated, lack of facilities in the room, hot water took up to 5 minutes to work
Location: Hawksburn Train Station was an easy trip to the city or suburbs. Hawksburn Village was nice but overpriced and everything closed early.
Not a bad hotel, but for the price and being advertised as a boutique hotel, expected a little more.

Simple room with ensuite. Basic accommodation if you need to spend a night in the area it is worth it.
