Downtown Memphis

Posted Mar 22, 2017
Pros: 13th floor room was clean and spacious.
Cons: There was NO information in the room about nearby restaurants or the bar upstairs. Half glass shower door allowed water to get all over floor.
Location: Plan to spend several hours (3+) at the National Civil Rights Museum.
Check-in went smoothly. Valet parking ($29/24 hours with in/out privileges) was prompt and friendly. Our room did not have a binder of information about area restaurants or attractions. Would have been nice to have information about hours/menu of the restaurants in the area. Shower door was glass and only covered half of the shower, which, while lovely, didn't do the job of keeping water off the bathroom floor. Room was clean, bright and spacious, with a partial view of the river. The rooftop bar was bustling and allowed for a lovely view of the city.

Hotel was pretty nice. Staff was always saying hello and have a great day. Valet parking was expensive but I guess there isn't too many places to park downtown. This is definitely an older hotel but pretty good location and lots of stuff in walking distance.

central city, nice folks, full-size bed, way 2 $$

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Pros: front desk folks were terrific--really everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: mentioned above--especially bed sizes and cost
People were friendly, very nice!! Central location good for walking to Memphis Grizzles and Cardinals games. City transportation was easy. Very expensive, full-sized beds--would have liked queen-sized. House keeping was friendly and pleasant, but did not re-fill Kleenex container, and didn't refill coffee packets. Booked through Expedia--then offered, prior to travel, a lower rate--we inquired about lower rate and were told no rooms available at the advertised rate. There are millions of rooms for sale every night with various price points, it's not what you pay that matters, it's how you feel about what you pay. Were fine paying what we thought was a good price, albeit amore expensive than we anticipated, but learning that other patrons were paying much less and that standard beds are full-sized and not queen-sized tempered our enthusiasm about the whole experience.

Nice hotel in downtown Memphis

Posted Mar 20, 2017
A good experience overall. We would've loved two queen beds instead of two doubles. The space is very good compared to other hotels; about 200 ft.² more ! Overall it's in the heart of downtown of Memphis and close to many things and overall a good experience. I would recommend it.

Trendy hotel - great blues music in the lobby

We had a super comfortable 2 day stay in Memphis. We loved the vibe of the city and of this hotel. The view from the twilight terrace was stunning ... One staff member Arlene at reception completley outshined the others. We would stay there again.
