#memphis.. Put some South in your mouth and this Beale street restaurant. I had the BBQ chopped salad. It is a sweet BBQ sauce. They mix it with ranch for an incredible dressing! OMG! Best BBQ in Memphis! We got the sausage and cheese appetizer and then split a full rack and chicken. So good. Kid friendly, as it was great fun to play eye spy! Memphis is a cool place to visit. The train station is in the area where Mystery Train was filmed. The Arcade restaurant is across the street. Famous because it was in the movie and mostly because that is where Elvis used to eat. An amazing museum on Civil Rights from slavery to present. Famous Beale St, I was there a bit early in the night, very fun and lots of music, cool stores, and people to watch. Police presence which is never a bad thing. Trolley was helpful. In a mood for music? Here is your distanation! Patio overlooks beautiful waterfall as a centerpiece of this outdoor oasis. While exploring historic Beale street and Civil rights sites downtown, have a good Southern soul food meal here. I had heard the bass pro shops were pretty cool but this one takes the prize!
This bass pro shop is not only a store but an attraction. Besides the usual, there is an elevator that will take you to the top of the pyramid. Once at the top, you can choose to sit at a beautiful bar (shown in the picture), which I found out serves as a venue for special events. I don't even want to think about the amount of money it would cost though. In addition, you can step outside into the balcony for a view of the city and the river. Pretty sunset! The state line comes up quick!!! Abandon Pontotoc Hotel The Pyramid in Memphis! Mini Takes the States 2014 Road Rally Memphis to St.Louis Leg:

Two words: the ducks. These ducks march into the fountain in the middle of the hotel two times a day, swim around for a while, then march right back out and ride an elevator up to their suite. True story. I couldn't make that up. Peabody Hotel tradition. Tamp & Tap in downtown Memphis is just my kind of place. I would go here to work on my laptop all the time if I lived in Memphis. There are plenty of places to sit and do your thing. My chai tea was sweet and delicious and the food was good, too.

With its sophisticated-yet-casual vibe, the Twilight Sky Terrace pairs the best of Memphis's urban flavor with natural beauty.
See more of Memphis at: http://intentionaltravelers.com/2014/05/12/memphis/ High quality restaurants are relatively scarce in Memphis, but Rizzo's southern-inspired cuisine does not fall short. In fact, it was absolutely delightful. We always like to share dishes so everybody in our group got to try everything that was ordered. The restaurant itself is bigger than it looks, so don't be dissuaded if the front room looks full. It wouldn't hurt to call ahead for a reservation just in case.

To discover the untapped potential of an abandoned, historic property, some folks in Memphis got together and transformed an empty space into a truly unique venue. It's open Thursday through Sunday with a simple bar inside, a food truck in the terrace, a few games like darts and air hockey, and plenty of open space to hang out in an unexpected setting with old friends or new acquaintances. We spent a good half hour just walking around in admiration of it all.
This may be a temporary venture so go soon and don't miss out!

As a newbie, I felt rushed to order because you have to place your order before you sit. Once we sat, though, the food came pretty quickly. The flavor of the food was good but my brisket (what I really was looking forward to eating) was cold. Regardless, I enjoyed the visit. Great southern food at the Arcade Restaurant. It won't change your life, but an historic restaurant that is kid friendly if you are blowing through town. If you enjoy a fine cigar and fine spirits in a relaxed environment then this is the place for you. Highly recommend. While exploring historic downtown, see this old central station, now an Amtrak railroad station. View of Mississippi River from Hernando de Soto Bridge at Arkansas/Tennessee border.
