Terrible bathroom

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Bathroom was rediculously small. No way a family could stay here with this bathroom. Also, NO coffee pot. You would think that for $+ per day they could afford to have coffee pots in the rooms for guests.

Attended a wedding in Memphis.

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: The atmosphere, the staff, the location and the memories.
Cons: Didn't especially like the beggars outside the doors of the hotel.
Location: We like the ribs across the street. We don't really care about the nearness to Beale Street. We stay at the Peabody for the Peabody itself.
We had stayed at the Peabody on a number of occasions in the mid 1980's. We always loved the atmosphere in the hotel during the Thanksgiving holidays. Drinks in the lobby and dinner of ribs across the street was a great way to top off a family reunion at Thanksgiving in Tunica. This stay was meant to step back in time, even though we are a little older!! It was great except for the way the ducks entering and leaving paralyzed the hotel lobby, but we do understand.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Posted Aug 9, 2015
We arrived and checked in. The bellman was very helpful with locations of eateries and some of the history of the hotel. Once we got to our room, it smelled like a cigar. I made a comment and the bellman asked if we would like another room or have someone come up and help get rid of the odor. We opted to have someone come up and take care of the odor. No one ever came to take care of the odor. The bathroom in the room was so small, you could barely fit a person in it. It was completely ridiculous how you had to work around the bathroom to take a shower, as well as, go to the bathroom. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

Recent stay in Memphis

Posted Jul 31, 2015
We booked a room with a King bed and were told upon check in that none were available unless we wanted to pay an additional $90 a night for the club level. So, we paid the same amount for 2 double beds that we would have paid for a King. Driving 6 hours and paying over $200 a night, we were very disappointed. We also had a roach crawling in our bathroom on the second night. Again, for this type of money, we were shocked with the roach.

10th anniversary

Posted Jul 31, 2015
We came to the Peabody to try and salvage our anniversary trip after a sudden death in the family. The minute the front desk (Rachel) heard it was our 10th anniversary she immediately upgraded us to the 12th floor Peabody Club! It was an amazing room! It came with complimentary snacks and drinks in the evening and breakfast in the morning! It even came with complimentary chocolates at turn-down! Getting to see the ducks march was super fun too!! Service, food and staff are amazing! We will be back!

Hotel experience

Posted Jul 26, 2015
The issue we have is the public coming in are not staying in the hotel coming to see the ducks. Even being 30 min. early we were still unable to get a nice view for the 11 am viewing. Guests should be able to have a time only for guest and the public another. Very disappointed we were unable to get a good view.

Southern Charm Wrapped in Pure Elegance

Posted Jul 23, 2015
Pros: I'm from California, and felt as though I really stepped into the South. The hospitality was very warm. Rooms clean and well appointed.
Cons: Parking
Location: Beale street is the hot spot! Visit the Rum Boogie Cafe. The Rock and Roll Museum is excellent walking distance. Ghost tours and city tours too!
As we stepped into this beautiful hotel we were not disappointed! Fresh flowers filled the lobby as the baby grand player piano filled the air with sweet melodies. The rooms are well appointed with a very classy and retro feel. Beale Street is within two blocks of hotel and not to be missed. Take the hotel tour which is given at 11:30 am right after the Marching Ducks have their show on the red carpet. The Ballroom is breathtaking! If blues music is something you enjoy, I highly recommend a visit to Rum Boogie Cafe on Beale Street on Sunday nights. They will entertain you with a jam session like you've never experienced! Get ready to have the music penetrate into your being!! This was our first visit to Memphis, and we are making plans to go back next year. I highly recommend the Peabody.

Beautiful Iconic Hotel

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: The History of it and the magnificent lobby and the fabulous staff
Cons: I found the air-conditioning in the public areas to cold, hot outside cold inside is hard as had to carry a jacket everywhere
Location: Beale Street/ Civil Rights Museum/ Sun Studio/ are all walking distance and Graceland is 15min away but need to take tour.
We arrived early and were prepared to leave our bags and go out but the hotel checked us in straight away so we were able go to our room, this was great. Very organised and pleasant staff, and not to busy to answer our questions or help book tours. The room was beautiful, not overly large but very comfortable. Wifi was good. The restaurant was ok for dinner or breakfast and there is small cafe as part of the hotel. Walking distance to just about everything. When having a drink you can watch the Peabody ducks march up the red carpet which is quite a sight.
