Great B&B in MendocinoPosted Jan 30, 2018
Pros: Location, décor, comfort, and friendliness of the innkeepers.
Cons: I would serve breakfast earlier, say at 8:00 am. 9:00 is too late for me, and it's likely too late for many people. Also, my fridge didn't work.
Location: It's on Main Street, and everything in Mendocino is walking distance.
I booked this place for the annual crab festival, as my usual (Nicholson House) wasn't available. It is a beautiful old building (c. 1881) within walking distance of everything. It is across the street from the church featured in "The Russians are Coming, the Russians are Coming!". Check in was easy, and the ladies who run the place are pleasant and welcoming. We stayed in the front rooms (66 and 68) in very nice rooms with working heaters. Rooms were clean and spacious. Bathrooms were tiny, and water temperature and pressure were not the best (you have to expect that in classic B&Bs). But we were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We intend to go back next year. One thing I would caution / recommend be changed. The breakfast (excellent, by the way), was not served until 9:10 am. A bit too late for me, as I'm used to eating at 6:00 am or so.

Pros: Inexpensive compared to the others in Mendocino.
Cons: Better curtains. Bed that does not rattle. Better heater.
We had stayed at other B&B's in Mendocino. This one was one of the least expensive and you get what you paid for. Location was not the best, the room we had was cold (very poor heating) and the window curtains were see through, no privacy. The bed was comfortable BUT rattled with every movement. Kind of made it difficult to 'sleep'. The Hostess was very friendly and the breakfast was good.

Neat old house. Close to the ocean and the Main Street. Great breakfast. Room small but clean. Old style bathroom with pull down light. Overall stay was good.

Waste of money and time.Posted Oct 23, 2017 on Hotels
When I booked this stay, I booked the room based on the photographs of the wonderful rooms with historic furnishings, and working in the museum field, I love staying in historic properties. When I was shown to my room, I was shocked to be taken outside the main house, to a little back door on the back of the house. The room was nothing historic, all modern, and it looked like a seldom used overflow room. No character at all! I also found an empty booze bottle in the bathroom, which was a real turnoff as well. I can't say what the real rooms are like in the main house, as this was not my experience. I will never book another room with this B&B!
