Nice stay, but kitchen pointlessPosted Feb 4, 2017 on Hotels
Overall good location, nice hotel, nice roof top tub to cool off and good staff, who spoke English very well. The kitchen was "non-equipped" to do anything but boil water and chill beer, water and wine. No pots, bowls, etc. Pretty useless in fact

In dire need of an updatePosted Jun 6, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel has some nice features, but the room had disgusting carpets and it was untracked, the bathroom was dirty, everything in the room was old, it had a crazy strong smell (some sort of air freshener), and the sheets were dirty. The hotel roof patio was lovely, but the hot tub was not heated so we couldn't use it.

Good value in the center of MendozaPosted May 26, 2016 on Hotels
El Portal is a great value. Terrific location. The condition of the rooms is really good. The bed is very comfortable. The hotel staff is wonderful and very helpful (all speak english). The only downsides are: the free breakfast is so-so and the kitchenette in the room thinly stocked (i.e. only one wine glass, very few utensils, like 1 dinner plate and 1 salad plate). We didn't eat much in the room except to reheat some leftovers and to have some cheese. However, you couldn't really cook a meal if you wanted to. Otherwise, it's a great hotel.

Almost perfect.Posted Nov 21, 2015 on Hotels
Perfect except several mornings there was fruit for breakfast. If you have a breakfast without any eggs or hot dishes you must at least have some fruit.

Central locationPosted Nov 29, 2014
Best benefit location. Museums, good restaurants and mixing with locals are easy walking distances. Hotel has great access to wine tours and tours to high Andes. One negative: roof top hot tub was cold and dirty. Helpful staff and friendly guests.

limited facilities but very comfortablePosted May 20, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, clean and tidy
Cons: there was a kitchenette attached to the room but apart from a kettle no pots or pans. Ok for a short stay.
Location: Quiet location and near lots of cafe's. directly overlooking a well kept park.
very clean and tidy and the staff were very very helpful. there is a restaurant but it is more like a cafe - better to eat out. located in a good part of town - very close to shops and cafe's. nice and quiet after the noise of BA.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Quaint and safe. Close to huge Gen San Martin park and bike rental and good restaurants. Also close to central plaza and a plus--no barking dogs.

Very good option for MendozaPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Location- Price
Cons: Parking- no pool
Location: Nice shopping and restaurants
First time in this hotel but many times in Mendoza. This is a very well located hotel that has the format of a small aprtment. A little kitchen that solve some of your problems if travelling with small children. Breakfast very will assoreted and staff very frindly. Parking a little small but at least the offer it for free. In from of a nice park and close to many restaurantes and shopping area. Recomended,
