Looking for some character?????

Posted Dec 6, 2016
Location: Do not visit Piacere, an Italian restaurant in town. It was disappointing at best. We loved Clos de Chacras, Andeluna and many others.
Not your run of the mill experience. These people do a great job at customer service. They speak English. You can go down to their private cellar and choose your bottle from a variety of local wineries for the evening. The food is very good and it is quiet. They really pay attention to the details. I would stay here again and again. You will need recommendations and appointments for almost all of your winery visits. We had a wonderful couples massage here which you will need after trying to hit all the highlights in the surrounding wine country. I hesitate to give such glowing recommendations because I want to come back and I am afraid this will make it more difficult, but the efforts of all involved here deserve to be recognized. You won't be sorry.

Wonderful accommodations

I feel so lucky to have found this place on hotels.com. Lares de Chacras is a beautiful property, tucked away at the end of a long driveway in the charming town of Chacras de Coria. The place is so comfortable and welcoming -- clean, spacious room with a firm mattress and roomy bathroom with all the amenities. The pool and jacuzzi are surrounded by comfortable chaise lounges and umbrellas. Complimentary breakfast is served on site each morning, including eggs made to order, pancakes, and a variety of continental offerings. Best of all, the staff here are so nice -- most are fluent in English and Spanish, friendly, helpful, warm. From the property, there are several great restaurants within walking distance. Other advantages: comfortable lobby area, wine cellar, in-room safe, free wifi throughout. I would come back to this place in a heartbeat.

Quaint boutique hotel

Outstanding, small yet quaint boutique hotel. The staff is extremely friendly. The surrounding area is great for walking around, visiting stores, taking in the colorful graffiti walls. Absolutely recommend!

Relaxing hotel in a cute city

Posted Sep 1, 2014
This hotel was very small, quiet and relaxing With a total of 10 Rooms it is truely a boutique hotel. The city in which is sits it in walking distance and is very nice to stroll. They hotel staff was very helpful booking our excursions and the breakfast included was a great way to start the day. I would recommend this hotel for all travelers who are looking for a great relaxing expirence

Beautiful property, lovely pool, good food. Very nice location -- just outside of Mendoza city but within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops in Chacras de Coria. Best of all was the very helpful and and attentive staff.

Lovely Time at Lares de Chacras

Posted Feb 15, 2014 on Hotels
We had the pleasure of staying 5 nights at Lares de Chacras and had a delightful time. The facilities were lovely, but the staff were just incredible and very accommodating to all of our requests. We had several dinners there, too, and the food was first rate and very reasonably priced. We would highly recommend this establishment to anyone who would like a charming hotel experience in the Mendoza area.

A costly basic hotel

Posted Dec 10, 2012
Pros: Staff kindness
Cons: Really expensive for what it is.
Location: Gloomy
It is a very basic hotel. At half the price or less, it would be a fair deal. However, for what we paid, we could have had a room in the best hotel in Mendoza -- and we finally did exactly that. At Lares de Chacra, the rooms are dark (certainly ours #3), the bathroom was in want of major renovation, the pool is petite and - how to say that -- you end up in the backyard of a very ordinary suburb. Again, at the right price one would be more understanding but since the hotel poses as a boutique hotel and charge an hefty price, future travelers must be informed of what they will get. Finally, the breakfast are Ok, but the dinner is really to avoid. I got a steak that I would I have returned in a restaurant at home, but come on we are in ARGENTINA. The tenderloin was overcooked, certainly not tender and it was 'buttered' with some heavy sweet sauce (something of the consistency of peanut butter). I skip the rest. I remained to be said that the staff is dedicated and very kind.

Expect a friendly atmosphere

Posted Dec 8, 2012 on Hotels
The people here are really accommodating, even for the hard-of-Spanish, they are honestly a great team. Expect a comfortable room with a quality mattress, lots of wooden surroundings and make sure to take advantage of their wine cellar. We had one meal at the restaurant for dinner but really kinda wish we ate there a second time, it was that tasty and diverse. Walking distance spots include convenience stores, a bank, some excellent restaurants as well as a nearby vineyard that provides tours -- but it's a cab ride to get to Mendoza proper.
