major renovation needed

Location: We were not there for recreation.
The property common areas were dirty, stained and generally in need of replacement. A common porch area was used for smoking guests within 3 feet of the main entry way. Porch spindles were missing and/or broken.The rear stairwell was strewn with chicken wing bones throughout our 5 night stay. Bed linens were not changed as requested and room furniture was stained and worn. The bathroom was unclean and the toilet fixture was in need of repair. A 1/2 star property.

Just a quick stay during a long trip , it was quiet, the beds very comfortable and the continental breakfast was good

The price seemed right but the hotel awful!

We couldn't access our upgraded room, the electronic keys wouldn't work due to a dead battery at the door. We were provided a physical key That didn't work. Curtains were dirty. Hotel worn and not kept up to date. Didn't dare stay for breakfast.

One bedroom suite was good, but wear your shoes

Only stayed here because we needed the bedroom suite. Sofa bed was broken/unusable, but replaced w rollaway by apologetic, friendly staff. Sheets were in the drawer but clearly dirty. Carpet had been vacuumed but so dirty our socks are ruined. I don't typically register complaints but not our first time here and same experience.

Staff was nice. I have no complaints. I will most definitely stay here again. I even joined club Carlson.

Great staff, lacking maintenance

The staff was great-- I have zero complaints about them, and the issues we had were not any fault of theirs. The hotel is quite dated. The room was dingy, but clean aside from stains on the sofa/chair and carpet that looked old (and we always do a thorough bed bug check no matter the hotel appearance). There was no a/c in the common areas, but the desk staff was trying to improve the climate with a portable unit. The room had very thin walls-- we could hear all the comings and goings of the rest of our floor despite the (loud) a/c in the room running nonstop. The room was very musty-- almost a mildew smell-- which we assume came from the a/c unit considering the dripping coming from it all night (think dripping faucet, but on a bigger scale). All of our belongings had absorbed the musty smell from one overnight (10pm-10am) stay. Thankfully the next stop was home so we could wash everything anyway. The breakfast was typical of most hotel breakfasts, and again, the staff was wonderful :). It was fine for a last minute room for a single night, but if there are other alternatives available at a similar price point I might look to those first next time.

Overall the facility was tired in appearance. Shower didn't work properly. Another customer had little kids and they played up and down the halls in from of our door. It was very noisy. For the price I had to pay was not worth it.

Dirty and run down...

I was disappointed in the state of the hotel itself, very run down. Definitely did not live up to the Country Inn and Suites usual standard. The bathroom was dirty and mildew stained around shower and the chairs in the room were stained and had holes in the upholstery. We needed a cot, but was told that the hotel only had 2 and they were already being used. I will say-the gentleman working the front desk was friendly and tried as best he could to accommodate us, but overall I would not recommend staying here.
