Not a True Country Inn

I have stayed at multiple Country Inn hotels. This particular hotel was not representative of the chain. It was very dirty and dated, as if it had not been maintained. The beds were comfortable and it was sufficient for a one night stay. I would not recommend for an extended period of time. The breakfast was alright, but not exceptional. I was expecting more from this hotel, based on my experiences with other hotels from the chain.

Waste of time for mature family oriented guests.

There were too many teenagers/young adults running through the hotel playing. There was no whirlpool, only a dinning table. Pool was filthy without any towels. Manager wasn't interested in listening to our complaint. The pullout sofa was sunken in and very uncomfortable.

Three rooms before we could settle in.

We had to be moved twice and then into a third room before we could settle in. The first room had a broken door lock AND the toilet wouldn't flush. The second room had a broken door lock and we were with a toddler so we had to have a working lock. The third room was acceptable, but by that time, nearly 10 pm, my daughter gave up and drove home with my grandson, feeling defeated! So our one night girls getaway(plus toddler grandson) was a bust. Never going there No apologies, nothing...very disappointed..

Good for what I needed

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Had to change rooms because air conditioning was not working in first room.

Quiet comfortable stay

Pros: It was one of the most quiet places we have stayed.
Cons: Breakfast was adequate for the price. Not 5 star but it wouldn't keep me from coming back!
Location: Shopping, restaurants and the mall are all close.
The wife and I were in town for a couple of days on personal business. This was the third hotel in the area we have stayed. It is the only one we will return to. Great staff, quiet room no high way noise and the bed was more comfortable than most I've slept. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Merrillville.

College Survey Trip

Brought our children to tour a local college. Hotel was 15 minutes away- great location. Excellent hot continental breakfast with different choices each day. Staff was friendly, especially the breakfast host. We didn't use the pool or fitness center. The hotel is a little dated- some wearing on the carpet and handrail on stairs, but not bad. Only slight problem- housekeeping changed our towels and trash, left new cups, but never made the bed. Have stayed here before and will definitely stay again when in the area.

We booked room with queen size bed, but it's more like twin size bed. Air conditioning and hearting are so loud at night and made it hard to fall sleep, together with the noise from the refrigerator. The room smells like mod and carpet is dirty. Breakfast lacks some flavors and coffee was just horrible. Not worth the money.

easy access of freeway

Pros: not much
Cons: almost everything
Location: close to restaurants and shopping
stayed there about five years ago and nothing has been updated carpets filthy and torn in hallways drapes falling off in room would not walk without shoes in room closet door hanging. Hotel used to have a hot tub that was taken out and not replaced should have one for the rates charged
