No towels in room and when reserving room I gave them my credit card along with my security code but they never mentioned they could not charge over the phone

Ok for what I needed

Ok for business I only slept and studied there. It was nice having refrigerator in room. A lot of noise from traffic, but ok for what I needed. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was kinda of dirty almost as if things had been sweep out of sight instead of picked up.

Nice place for a quick overnight stay

They were finishing the remodeling of this location while there. Everything seem to be in great working condition with it being new or refurbished.

Needs to be cleaned

For the price it was what you expected. Wish they cleaned it more the floor in between the beds was sticky and the comforters had stains on them.

Updating in progress

Pros: Allowing pets without charging $100 extra. The updating was great, the shower was good. Being carpet free was healthy.
Cons: The cleaning staff really needs to go the extra mile when vacuuming and dusting. Getting behind the bathroom door, under the beds & the heating units.
Location: There is a lot of shopping and food locations close. Its in a mall like area.
The front desk was very pleasant and told us that they were just moving new furnishings into the rooms and updating them. The road noise to the back of the building is exceptional. We could that they have worked to try to soundproof the rooms yet although not as loud, can still hear the whooshing. The room had all new furnishings, new mattresses, laminate floors, new sheets, towels & new flatscreen TV. They are so new we could tell they was still light drywall type dust on them. The room was clean with the exception of under the beds and around the nightstand & in the heating unit. Under the beds are open so the cleaning staff really needs to vacuum under there. There was a acrylic fingernail on the floor beside the nightstand. I understand its easy to miss some things when cleaning but that was big enough to easily see. The nice Carrier heating cooling unit worked well although it appeared to be crushed by some thing big. The louvers were all broken and it was really dirty in there, a simple vacuum or dust buster would take care of. We were trying to be very open minded and their price was very low/discounted and its hard to find a place to stay with a pet. I do believe they have the best of intentions in bringing this older building up to date. I killed one German Cockroach. My daughter, an entomologist, ID'd this. We didn't see any others. I hope they are on a spray program. I think they are working hard to update and this can be a good cheap place to stay.

We made a decision to utilize hardwood throughout the rooms instead of carpeting and I am glad to hear that you appreciate that. However, with hardwood floors I hold my housekeeping team accountable for dusting and sanitizing the floors. You are absolutely correct that Merrillville has great shopping and wonderful places to eat. This is a great location. Not enough toilet paper

Only 1/2 roll in room Husband wasnt feeling well We have stayed there twice 1st time was great Suggest handicap rooms
