It is an old building and it might need some remodeling, breakfast was good but i will suggest they could indicate what is spicy and what is not because most mexican food is spicy, i like the location just a few blocks from the subway station allende and Zocalo, the staff was friendly and able to help!

"The best in Zocalo"
This hotel is as good as it gets in zocalo. What a gorgeous historical place in the middle of everything with a great staff. One thing you have to understand about this place is, it's right by Zocalo Square which is know for hosting concerts and being a historical old hotel the sound insulation isn't the best, and you will hear music till late in your room. I didn't mind that and loved it all.

"Good hotel, but has seen better days. "
Pros: Good location, innovative architecture, nice rooms, excellent staff, several very good restaurants in the hotel. Cons: This hotel used to have an excellent art collection, however when the hotel fell on hard times much of it has been sold (notably an Alexander Calder mobile), so only a couple of pieces now remain (notably a Tamayo mural). The current hotel owners would do well to replace much of the art collection. Mexico City has a vibrant arts scene and finding excellent, innovative, and reasonably priced pieces should not be hard nor should it break the budget -- it just takes a little work. I would strongly encourage the owners/management to put in that work. Although the hotel itself is smoke free, there is a smoking area just outside the fitness center, so the smoke can easily blow into the fitness center (not very pleasant for those of use who wish to stay healthy). I would strongly encourage the owners/managers to make the entire property smoke free. We stayed on Club level, 4th floor. We have reasonably good Spanish skills, which helps a lot in communication and relationships. Most staff, however, have enough English skills to answer basic questions.

"cool and nice hotel, BUT..."
The hotel its incredible, the building itsantique, and has a fantastic colonial architecture, has a very nice patio in the middle of it. I would totallt recomend the restaurant in the first floor. The rooms are cool, modern and antique at the same time, staff would come in twice a day to check if the room its clean and if theres antything you need. BUT i have 2 major highlights, the first is that they do not haa=ve doors in the bathroom, nor in the shower, they only have curtains. The second is that the room has very poor lighting. I think its perfect for a couple not for friends to share the room.

"Great location in the downtown area"
In the bathroom area, there is a faucet with filtered water for drinking. The light switches were 2 way with one set at the door and the other in the headboard so you don't have to get up to turn out the lights. There is no individual air conditioner in the room, but the room is air conditioned and there is a fan to help keep you cool.

"Hotel in safe area of Mexico City"
Hotel Personnel Outstanding, friendly, courteous, helpful, honest. Can't find words to describe great personnel. However, the hotel.not to the standards of Best Western Hotels, carpets are deteriorated in the rooms, bathrooms look old and need repair, mattresses and beds in bad shape. This hotel needs better beds, carpet, and better bathrooms in the rooms.
