"Great hotel with wonderful character!"
This hotel is an architectural gem and has been restored from an Art Nouveau department store -- just wait until you see the Tiffany-style roof to the atrium and the original wrought iron-work. Very comfortable rooms and lovely staff.

"Nice hotel close to the Zocalo"
The hotel has a great location near the Zocalo. The concierges are very helpful with information regarding nearby places and arranging tours and cabs. Breakfast has lots of options so you can find what you want from yogurt and banana to waffles with everything in between. Room had all you needed but air conditioner was ineffective.

"Great location"
We wanted to be within walking distance to the Zocalo. Next to Alameda Park was perfect with Madero Avenue being a pedestrian only street to get there. The room was very clean and a friendly staff. Quiet area for a good night's sleep. This is a very safe part of the city with a lot of places to see close by. One tip...try a meal at El Cardenal in the Hilton next door. Reasonable prices for excellent food and service.

"Authentic Great Location"
I stayed in Hotel Ritz in early February 2016. It is located in the heart of the historic center. The front door is right on Morelo Ave, which is a pedestrian-only street. It is a short walk to both the Zocolo and Alameda Park. The front desk staff were fantastic. It helps to speak some Spanish, as this is an authentic Mexican hotel in an authentic Mexican city of 22 million. The security is good, as is the lobby area. They even have their own taxi guy to take you to the airport. There are cheaper places to stay, but if you can afford it, this is a good value. Hotel Canada is another good spot. It has free breakfast, but good luck on getting a reservation there. Also, the currency exchange is a bit in flux in Mexico right now, so there can be a variation in the Expedia price and the hotel price. The reality is that Mexico is a very good value right now for travelers who enjoy Mexico. The subway costs 25 cents! The ride to and from the airport is about $15.

Loved the hanging garden with the bicycle embedded. And the mural. And the architecture of the building - old and warped from time but remaining seemingly robust.

"A fine hotel close to Bellas Artes"
This hotel was nice in every way. There is a drinking water faucet in the bathroom which was most convenient. The business center has printers with paper but one has to ask at the front desk to have a computer activated. Staff was friendly and helpful. I made an error trying to set the code on the in room safe and ended up with it locked shut. We asked at the front desk if someone could open it. When we returned from sightseeing it was done. We hadn't put anything in the safe yet, but whoever worked on it found a Euro coin which was left sitting in clear view within the safe- not ours as we haven't been in the EU for years. I thought this said a lot about staff honesty. It is located a block and a half from Bellas Artes with all the historic center sites within walking distance. Juarez metro station is a few blocks away, which we used to visit the Freida and Trotsky museums in Coyoacan. Metrobus line 4 north route stops at Bellas Artes and can be used to go to and from TAPO bus terminal or the airport.

We liked the Sunday Market set up in the Park next to the Hotel. Would have appreciated the desk having a map of the downtown area, as we wanted to walk there and back.

"Good Hotel"
Great Hotel for the money. We had a great time staying there. I really enjoyed the 24hr concierge even though they did not speak any english. Just a heads up the Wifi tends to be super spotty, but I would definitely stay there again.

"A lovely hotel conveniently located"
This was my time at this hotel; I was quite impressed at the spaciousness of the room and all its amenities. It was ideally situated near Juarez and Bellas Artes subway stations and very close to little China Town. Several other interesting places of interest are within easy walking distance ... Francisco Madero St., Sanborns, Zocalo, etc.
