Love this hotel!

Loved Las Alcobas. Cannot fault anything. Attention to detail is what this hotel is about. Fab location. Great good. Good weekend away.

Could have been better

Posted Feb 13, 2017
Firstly, the hotel is significantly more expensive than any other option in Mexico City - and for reasons which aren't clear. The room size isn't particularly large, though well-appointed. The included breakfast is a real disappointment, and is essentially just a fruit salad with a pastry. If you want anything else, you must pay more. This is a pretty poor breakfast when you're paying upwards of $500 per night. The hotel also has no iron available for guests. They do offer a complementary pressing service, but the wait can be long if you need a suit or several pieces ironed. It would be better if such an expensive hotel could keep at least one iron around for guests to use. The location is quite nice though, and the hotel is in a safe location. But it's a highly internationalized and high-end part of town, so if you want to experience the "real" Mexico, you'll have to take a thirty minute cab ride.

Still the best hotel in Polanco

Posted Feb 1, 2017
Pros: Best location within Polanco with easy walking (and safe) to plenty of restaurants and high end shops. Excellent rooms, fantastic staff and food.
Cons: The gym is quite small.
Location: Best location within Polanco, super safe and easy walking to amazing restaurants, coffee shops and high end shops.
I go to Mexico City for work a few times a year and Las Alcobas continues to be my first choice. Location, quality, service and food remains excellent visit after visit.

Wonderful boutique hotel in a great neighborhood

Posted Jan 11, 2017
Pros: Comfortable room and the staff.
Cons: Hmm. Well the scale in our bathroom needed new batteries. Honestly, it would be hard to do better.
Location: Very nice walking neighborhood.
The hotel is small, 40 or 50 rooms. The most important thing is the concierge service. They arranged airport transport, helped with restaurants, and two great tours - one of the city and the other of the pyramids. It is a first class place on a friendly scale.

99.9% Flawless Hotel in a Perfect Location

Posted Nov 8, 2016 on Hotels
Everything - literally everything - is perfect about Las Alcobas save one small thing. The beds are WAY too soft - like mashed potatoes - which is rough on a bad back. Otherwise the rooms are very comfortable, wonderful showers and tubs and toiletries; the service is 100% top notch and the food is fantastic both in the hotel and their restaurant Dulce Patria around the corner. Highly recommended - just check the bed before you unpack. :)
