Nice hotel but not worth the price

The hotel is nice but not worth the price. The Delano is next door and a thousand times better. Then you go up the street and you have the W or OneHotel. The sushi place is great but the restaurant by Jose Is horrible. Waste of money. I dealt with pleasant staff at the front desk. Gustavo is a horrible manager. I had an issue with Expedia and price matching their website, he was not only entirely in accommodating but I couldn’t get a hold of him. The pool also was bad. The pool Person was never present. They didn’t have enough menus and had to take from one guest to give to another. The music was also too low the whole time so it felt like a simple hotel pool. They would try to push Hyde however Hyde was a full blown party. There was no chill ambiance that would be expected. They simply miss the spot. Once again though the front desk was the only saving grace, they were very nice. But stay at the Delano instead for the price.

Small Rooms

Pros: The shower had a nice water flow from the overhead rain maker.
Cons: Bring two rooms together as one single. That might help...
Location: Lots of restaurant choices in a very, very busy part of town.
This is a hotel trying to maximize rooms. As such, everything from the rooms & hallways to the stairway are very tight and small. There is are no closets as there is not enough space. This is high density housing featured in a hotel.

I apologize that the accommodations, though well-appointed, were smaller than expected. Our beautiful building was built in 1940 and we do our best to make the historically driven room size comfortable in modern terms. I am so sorry this detracted from the stay expectations. Amazing hotel with the "Miami" feel you are looking for. The pool party is awesome and definitely something you should stay here just to check out

Mediocre

This hotel is mediocre. Main problem is staff. It is not that they are horrible. Staff is indifferent to guests, seeming to not care about their experience. This seems to be the culture at SLS and must come from management who seemed absent. Hotel charges resort fee which includes almost nothing. I have never stayed at a hotel with resort fee that does not even have water at beach. (They charge $10 for small bottle of water!) Pool is dark most of day. Only 2 small elevators for guests and staff. Decent property with sub performing staff. There are many better choices.

One person for check-in during the holiday break is not enough. We waited for over 15min just to begin checking in. Pool was okay.

Worst experience ever

I honestly never write negative reviews... just don’t go there anymore but this hotel is by far the worst and biggest disappointment I have ever had. Rooms are ridiculously small, you don’t ever have a wardrobe or closet, just one drawer and 4 hangers. On top of that are really dirty and filthy and staff don’t really clean. I found bottles from another guests under the bed and the couch was all cover in wine. Of course it wasn’t cleaned at all during our stay (5 days) Recepcionist at check out was ignoring all my comments giving me a patronizing look Swimming pool are dirty full of drinks spilled by people The only thing I liked was the restaurant and you don’t need to stay in this overpriced hotel to go there There are soooo many options around that I can only suggest to anyone thinking about coming here, please think again and go somewhere else. Delano is a much better option

Amazing hotel close to the beach and Lincoln rd Ma

The staff were very helpful and were very hospitable. We went during art Basel and set is up with all the events we wanted to go to. The room was amazing, we had gotten a corner ocean from room on a high floor and the view was beautiful. They had everything needed in the room, booze, beach bag, hats for the pool. The bed was very comfy and the shower had a regular shower and a rainforest shower. Overall amazing!

Change the elevators

Cons: Cut down the palm trees around the pool so you can get a tan. Change the motor in the elevator.
Fun hotel with friendly staff that take car or all of your needs. The elevators can take 10 minutes and there are only 2 for the entire hotel. The rooms are tiny but that is the style, if your in South Beach there isn't a lack of space in other hotels. The pool for 21+ is excellent but the other pool does not get any sun light.

Good location. Good value.

Small lobby, less staff at chkin. Hallways outside room are way too dark & so are the hallway walls/carpet. Room was nice but lacked a desk & space to keep things. But the location close to Lincoln Road made up.
