For the price point, there are nicer, cleaner options on South Beach. The hotel has an aroma of mildew and air-freshener. Upon arrival, the building is dimly lit, and it was difficult to find the staff. There are only two elevators servicing 12 floors. The building itself is in need of a renovation, however it seems all they’ve done is paint and put up wallpaper to hide the deteriorating building. The bathroom in the room has eroded mirrors and cracked tiles. The carpeting and furniture in the room all need to be replaced.
The SLS is definitely not the worst hotel I’ve ever been to, but I’ve stayed at nicer Marriott’s and Hiltons for this price point. Come here for the parties, don’t come here to stay.
