The location of this hotel is amazing. Basically everything is within walking distance. Loved how they offer us welcome champagne and all the staffs were nice.

We liked the location of the property. The overall vibe of the Betsy was nice. Our room was very small for what we paid which was disappointing. The pool area was very basic. The menus were very over priced and the food was average. We found much better places to eat outside of the hotel. The staff was very aloof.

Liked the location and proximity of the hotel to the beach. We enjoyed the hotel pool on the top floor. Unfortunately, there were a variety of areas that did not meet our expectations. Getting someone to answer at the front desk was nearly impossible. When we asked for our room to be cleaned they only restocked the towels and made the beds. Accessing our room was VERY challenging each day. From the main lobby you take the elevator to the 3rd floor, get off and follow a maze until you find another elevator, you take that elevator down to the first floor. It was not convenient or enjoyable to do this every time. We also had less than desirable service at the restaurant for breakfast and slow and inaccurate service at the roof top pool. While the pool and beach were wonderful, we would not stay there again.

The atmosphere of The Betsy is the best I have ever experienced. Starting with the friendly caring staff (esp. Fritz, Juan, Julio) - our every need and question was answered and tended to. The interior design is gorgeous and inviting. An easy class and elegance. The lobby and bar with pianist playing is so lovely, one may never want to explore the rest of South Beach. Food is excellent. Resident dogs make the vibe so familial. You truly could spend an entire weekend appreciating the fabulous art on the walls throughout the hotel. Location steps from the beach and slightly away from the hub bub of late night partyers, but close enough to join in and then stroll home. Pricey like the rest of South Beach.

This is an older historic property with lots of great pictures of the nice pools. The rooms are extremely small and they don’t offer room service. Televisions are outdated and only have about 40 channels with no access to Netflix or Amazon Prime. The place is in need of a serious upgrade if I am going to stay here again. Some friends stayed at a hotel 2 blocks north for less than half the price and the hotel was nicer and had oceanfront rooms. You have to walk across the street to get to the beach at the Betsy. Location and their friendly staff are the only 2 positives I can give the place.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Bar and restaurant very good but expensive. Gratuity added to everything including just drinks. But all bartenders were very personable and kind. Actually, all staff went above and beyond to make our stay positive and happy. Beautiful art all throughout the hotel. A huge ball suspended in mid air connecting the two buildings. A library in the hotel as well as books everywhere including books in the room. My wife loved that. The rooftop pool could use a little love as tiles were falling off and a lot of bird poop. Not the hotels fault, but the beach had homeless people sleeping throughout. If we were to return to south beach, we would stay there again. But it seems like south beach is not as “nice” as it used to be.

I paid $1,300 for a one night stay. Initially the room we were assigned had mold on pictures and the room smelled like mold. The manager Chris was able to re assign us to a suite, which was completely an upgrade from the older section. Once the room was ready, we went in and there was hair on the chair in the living room and a cup and ash tray full of cigarettes and coffee on the balcony. Trash can was not thrown out from previous stay. I expected a luxury stay and the aforementioned did not reflect that experience.

I enjoyed my stay at the Betsy Hotel. The area felt safe and there was plenty of eateries and shopping close by. Fritz and Zel were amazing! My only complaint was the mattress was very soft and felt sunken in.

My TV didn’t work, sagging mattress & sofa.
I booked my stay at the Betsy based on reviews and the aesthetic of the property. It is an old building. That being said, rooms are tiny! The bed I slept in the first night was uncomfortable and had a dip indentation in it (not comfortable.) I went to the restaurant downstairs for a late lunch, the table was dirty- I had to ask to have the booth seat cleaned and I wasn’t greeted or asked to be helped when I was seated so after a while I eventually left to eat somewhere else. The next day I woke up and had breakfast downstairs and it was a pleasant experience. I did change rooms to upgrade to a larger room. The sofa in the room is rundown and sagging (old Ikea?) Unfortunately the television in the bedroom did not work as well as the telephone. When asked if something could be done I was told that there wasn’t anyone available to address the problem so I could not watch TV in bed like I like to do. Also, using the one phone that worked in the living area to call to asked for help- was unavailable- the front desk would not answer calls. So I had to walk downstairs to asked for help. The rooms are decent but becoming run down, there were several hairs in the both bathrooms that I stayed in (gross.) Unfortunately I do not believe the price of the hotel matched the quality of the accommodations.

Wonderful hotel…. It’s classic … If you wanna a hotel luxury and elegant, choose in other area. Great view, restaurant and the beach it’s close and safety
