Hotel staff is great

Posted Mar 14, 2017
Pros: Staff and breakfast fridge and safe in the room, comphy bed also
Cons: bigger bathroom and new air conditioners
Location: That was just fine with us
The hotel staff is really great, the hotel is old, the bathrooms is soooo small and has no air conditoning vents in them so they are very hot. The air conditioner is old and would never shut off, of keep the humidity out. We had a king size bed wich was very comfotabel. Has a safe and fridge which I appreciated. They put us in a room towards the back because they knew we were not their for spring brake, so the room was quiet. They have a great free breakfast in the mornings. Over all it wasn't that bad, but would like to find something more up to date for the price.

Great Beach Hotel

Posted Mar 14, 2017
It was clean with great staff, across from the beach, and close to a lot of shops and restaurants.

Nice old hotel next to the beach

Posted Mar 2, 2017
Pros: Art Deco style, close to beach
Cons: room refresh
It's been a very nice experience to stay in Art Deco area and in one of those fancy hotels there. It has a certain style to it that we liked a lot. Having the breakfast was very nice and even though food selection was a bit limited it was a pleasurable experience. The room we were in was quite small and old but we had no complains about it - if it was smaller it would be bad.

Convenient location on Ocean Drive.

Posted Feb 21, 2017
Pros: Location, ambiance, friendly and helpful staff
Cons: I know the hotel is several decades old and I doubt if anything could be done but...the elevator was SO SLOW.
Location: Just wandering up Ocean Drive is a lot of fun. You always hear music playing and the way the hotels are lit at night is dazzling.
Had a wonderful corner room with great view of the beach and ocean. Room was clean and neat and great value for the money. Would recommend the hotel again and would stay there again.

Great South Beach Hotel, but...

Posted Feb 18, 2017
I had a good experience at the Beacon. I stayed 2/17/17, the roomwas clean, staff was friendly and decor was everything you'd want from an Art Deco South Beach hotel. However, there was ACTIVE construction the whole day I was there from 7am onward. My 3rd story window overlooked it, so I was eye level with the workers on the roof next door, maybe 20ft away. And it was much too loud to sleep in past 7am. Also, oddly, the bath towels were full of cottony lint that stuck to everything I own, my beard and my hair. I'm still pulling it off my clothes Pros -great ambiance -great location -free breakfast -free wifi -close to parking garage -clean -beach chairs and towels included Cons -loud -as of 2/2/17 in a construction zone -restaurant downstairs is overpriced and bad. Though there are many good places to eat nearby. Overall, I'd stay there again when the construction next door is over.

Hello Lee, It's great to hear that your overall experience was great and that you enjoyed the friendliness of our staff, decor, and cleanliness of our property. We want you to know that we understand your dissatisfaction for the construction next door. We will be sure to follow up with city officials on how early the work started. We do apologize and promise to do our best to regulate this very new situation. Best Regards,

Average hotel, great area

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Pros: great location - across the street from the beach and on ocean drive so several restuarants and shops near by
Cons: better breakfast and better offer for VIP members
Location: ice bar, wynwood art distract + brick house bar, lots of great restaurants, rent citi bikes
I cannot believe this hotel has such high ratings. This hotel should be no more than a 3 stars. It's in great location (right across from the beach) and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, but that's really about it. It's extremely run down and old. They have ONE elevator that can hold no more than 3 people, 2 if you have suitcases. They have mini bar refrigerators that no longer work, which is extremely deceiving since I stored several products in there just to find out the next day that it didn't work. The rooms are tiny, but that's expected with the location. The free breakfast is alright, includes toast, bagels, eggs and sausage. I would only recommend this hotel if you're on a low budget and just looking for a quick place to lay your head. If you're looking for anything fancy this is NOT the place.

Hello Karen, Firstly allow me to say thank you for having taken the time and write about your time with us. While we are very happy that you enjoyed our convenient location and our helpful staff, we are disappointed that you were not entirely happy with our property. We truly appreciate all of our guests feedback as is an integral part of our strategy to always bring a product that all future visitors can enjoy. I will be sure to pass along your review to the rest of the managers as we are always looking for ways to improve. The Beacon South Beach was a property built in the mid-1930's and with properties with that much history, we understand that it takes a special kind of attention. We can understand that not all would appreciate a piece of history and would prefer the more modern buildings. We, however, feel that our history is what makes us special. Thank you again for your stay!

Friendly service

Posted Feb 16, 2017
Pros: Great spot
Cons: We felt the hostesses for ALL restaurants were a bit to pushy when it came to eating at their venue. If you walk the avenue you will be asked about 15
Very attentive to your questions & concerns. We had a few noises in the room that was an issue but they took care of us promptly.

Greetings, We are very happy to know that you had such a great time! While we absolutely understand your disatisfaction with South Beach's hostests, we can assure you that the city of Miami Beach has taken notice has placed regulations that will prevent or at the very least, negate them from doing so in the future. Thank you again and we hope to see you back!
