Lack of attention to essential details

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. We changed hotels last year when, after complaining each year about their terribly slow Wi-Fi service they never improved it. We tried it again this year since another, nearby, preferred hotel was already full. Again, despite many positive features several important details marred our experience.
The elevator obviously was in dire need of repair since the control buttons did not function correctly and it made a disturbing "bump" upon arrival at each level (and we got the full experience travelling up and down to the 4th floor).
More significantly, once again, we were most frustrated to NOT receive the essential Wi-Fi service we depend upon when away from our family and our businesses. Their Wi-Fi system stopped working and the problem was not fixed until the following. The excuse that the hotel was full and the system overloaded was not only incorrect but also indicated a distinct lack of interest in providing an acceptable service for all guests.
Also the bathroom fitting and fixtures need upgrading! The shower was extremely unpredictable - we couldn't predict whether we were going to be broiled or frozen!
This could be a very nice, friendly, family hotel but the while experience was marred by a lack of attention to essential details.
