No reasons given

Posted Oct 4, 2017
Made reservation in Coral Gables at the time of check in the employee told me that there was a problem and my room was at the brickell hotel, no questions asked no reasons given. Traveling with a kid what was I supposed to do? Start looking for hotels in the same area so has to accept the change. The brickell hotel has a good location but its older than the coral gables one plus no cleaning in 3 days!!

Two night stay while house being exterminated

Posted Sep 28, 2017
Pros: The central location
Cons: Everything! The furniture needs to be upgraded; needs NEW luggage carts; kitchens need to be stacked with basic necessities including a coffee maker.
Location: Walking distance to down town Coral Gables, with restaurants and retail stores. Also a quick drive Coconut Grove or Brickell areas
The reviews online are way more generous than the actual property. Although the manager on duty was very pleasant, the hotel itself does not have the best upkeep considering it is not that old. The only 2 luggage carts on the property were broken, one with a flat tire, the other one didn't move. The room furniture was chipped in different places. The cupboards were empty, I mean totally empty! If you want glass or a spoon you have to request it at the front desk, same for pots, pans or plates. Upon arrival to room I realized I needed a glass to drink water, but the in room phone was not working, had to call front desk from my cell to request a glass and request to have room phone fixed, but I was basically told that the "technician" had left for the day and I had to wait to next day to have it fixed, I then requested a discount for the inconvenience and magically the manager came up and "fixed" the phone. Additionally, the hotel has its own parking lot which is closed off, but you are still charged a fee per car, per day, for parking or you will be towed, this is ridiculous! And not well advertised online by your website. Breakfast is advertised as included but it consisted of fresh coffee and some stale mini muffins to go. I reserved at this hotel so I could feel at home and have an equipped kitchen and not be inconvenienced for the two nights I had to be away from my home, but clearly this was a mistake!

Tonie, it was disheartening to read that we did not live up to our usual standards, and we're truly sorry your stay was less than satisfactory. We are taking appropriate steps to ensure future guests do not encounter the same issues. We hope you will accept our apologies and consider giving us another chance to show you the outstanding service that we typically provide. Sincerely, Hotel Management

They had A/C

Posted Sep 22, 2017
We stayed here overnight when we had no power due to Irma. First of all, parking is not free, it's $15 a night and is not secure (there is no gate). There were some sketchy people hanging in the lobby talking loudly. This seemed to frustrate the lady at the desk but she did nothing about it. Another security issue - she was the only employee there; maybe she was afraid to kick them out. I didn't need them, but there were no dishes, utensils or pots & pans should you need to cook. Maybe you need to rent them? Also, this is not chi chi Coral Gables, it's across the street from a defunct Sears, but should you need something there is a mall down the street with a Marshalls, TJ Maxx & Nordstrom Rack!

We would like to offer our sincere apologies for not living up to your expectations or ours and the inconvenience it caused. Although we make every effort to be perfect, sometimes we fall short. Please note, to ensure cleanliness of kitchenware upon check-in, brand standards require us to make these items available at the front desk rather than leaving them in the suites. We are sorry that we failed to communicate our hotel policies to you at the time of check-in. We hope to have the opportunity to make it up to you on a future visit. Sincerely, Hotel Management

HORRIBLE hotel ever in such a nice location

Posted Aug 17, 2017 on Orbitz
The room I was staying was nonsmocking but it's. I stayed 3 nights with my 5years old boy, The first night it's unpleasant carpet smell but I thought I would be ok. The second night I was packing till late and my boy was already in bed. I suddenly smelled smocking, I thought it's odd because no door opened, only AC was on. The final night of staying, I had to wake up early to catch up airplane so I got 5am, I couldn't breathe so I changed clothing quickly and run to front desk. I asked stuff to come & check my room whether he could breathe or not. He told me it's bad, he wouldn't know the smell isroom I had a visitor for a shor while we were talking she kept saying something burning....so I checked around stove, nothing is on... I really didn't want to be at room. The reason I stayed at 'extended stay America 'in coral gables Miami was my family lived there for over 3 months while I was in the process of purchasing single family home 4 years ago. And I sold the house 3 days ago and I like to stay few nights before I moved out of Miami . So I booked 3 nights there but that's my last BIG mistake. Hotel condition was not as good as before. I should have complained earlier but I tried to take it easy because of my leaving. My centimental decision didn't work it out. Manager promised me that I will get money back. We will see... Anyway I'm very disappointed at ESA and I won't stay any ESA any more

Terrible customer service. Rooms that smell

Posted Jul 16, 2017 on Hotels
Terrible hotel. They will barely answer the phone at front desk. The only bag cart had a broken collapsed wheel . Their continental breakfast is a joke with muffins coffee and water . I checked in late and our room smelled like cigarettes soo bad . But we were so tired that we just stayed in . But i would never stay here again!
