Horrible hotel and bad attention

Posted Jun 27, 2016
Pros: Nothing
Location: good location !
It is definitely a very bad hotel. The level of people attending is lousy. I do not recommend at all !!! . It just makes good location but everything else is the worst.

It is disappointing to hear that our service was not delivered to the high standards that we have set for ourselves during your visit. The Golden Strand Resort is not a hotel but is a condominium timeshare Resort offering various amenities. We thank you for your feedback and we will continue to focus on improving the quality of customer service. Best Regards,

Charming resort in the middle of bustling Sunny Is

Posted Mar 31, 2016 on Hotels
We had a great stay while here. Building is older but rooms are very clean. The pool was great for the kids and you can not beat the beach location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bar located in pool area was a plus! The grounds surrounding the resort make you forget you're in the middle of a bustling town. Was disappointed when we learned that we would need to switch rooms after a few nights. Quickly got over it when our new room had a beautiful view of the beach. Would recommend requesting a room NOT facing Collins as traffic is noisy until all hours of the night.Very sad to hear the resort is being torn down. I found it much more charming than the skyscrapers surrounding the property. Would defiantly recommend Golden Strands for those staying with kids.

Thank you for leaving us a feedback. The Golden Strand Resort is a timeshare condominium resort and units are owned on weekly basis from Saturday but we do our best to keep you in the same unit if your reservation overlaps a saturday. There are various amenities for the families such as: semi-Olympic heated pool, ping-pong, volley-ball, shuffleboard, playground for the kids, and beach. The resort is accepting reservations and we hope that you will come back again.

HOTEL MUY BIEN UBICADO CON LOS DÍAS CONTADOS

Posted Mar 24, 2016 on Hotels

Very overpriced then they nickle and dime you for everything else including parking. It was a timeshare so parking should be included in the timeshare maintenance and no need to up charge you like that. The front desk never makes eye contact and seem like they can't be bothered.

The prices of the rooms were higher than usual because of the unusually high demand during spring break .There is a parking fee of $20 per week if you have a car. We thank you for your feedback and we will continue to focus on improving the quality of customer service.

Not a good place to rest

Posted Mar 21, 2016
This hotel has no amenities that make your stay comfortable, you have to make your own cleaning and change your bed. And the rooms are not nice at all, I think with Expedia they give the worst rooms they have. Definitely I do not recommend this "hotel"

The Golden Strand Resort is a timeshare condominium resort and the cleaning of the units are done once a week or it can be provided if availablefor an additional fee. For your convenience, there is a laundry department, free of charge, where linens and towels can be exchanged and room supplies can be provided as needed. All rooms have an equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi internet, and cable TV. Although we did not meet your expectation, we will use your feedback to improve our guest satisfaction service.

Dissappointed

Posted Mar 3, 2016 on Hotels
The rudist ever receptionist, would not recommend at all, shame tho as the staff in the resturant where lovely. Then on top of our already paid accommodation thru hotel.com we had to pay a daily amenities charge, that we didn't even use, never advise this on check but thats no surprise!

Dear Jodie, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. It is disappointing to hear that our receptionist staff service was not delivered to the high standards that we have set for ourselves during your visit. We will work hard to ensure that errors such as this do not occur in the future. The amenity fees are mandatory and are displayed next to the rates on Expedia , and also under "condo policies" and "fees" . They include use of beach chairs and umbrellas, Wi-Fi internet, room safe, use of washing machine, laundry facilities, access to steam room and sauna, gym, computer room with printing stations, and local phone calls. We do hope that you will give us another chance to show you we can do better. Best Regards,

Nice hotel and close to the beach

Posted Feb 29, 2016
Pros: Location of this hotel was spot on. I was looking for a hotel near the beach and this place did it for me, while the price was great!
Cons: Room cleanliness would need to improve.
Staff were nice, pleasant and easy to work with. Will come here again

Pleasantly surprised

Posted Feb 29, 2016 on Ebookers
Having read very bad and very good reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about staying here and was very pleasantly surprised to find the place a little oasis in the condo and resort towers dominating the Sunny Isles Beach skyline. The two bedroom apartment was clean, ample towels (including for the beach/pool) and linens were provided (and laundered ones were easy to exchange at the laundry for dirty ones), the kitchen was well equipped and clean, and the free washing machines and dryers (only 3 in the building we were in) were an welcome bonus. The public areas were always clean and attractive. The resort fees of $10 per day per room and $20ish per week for car parking (not too many places onsite but an overflow car park a few minutes walk away). The only down sides: the poor ventilation in the bathrooms (2 full and 1 guest toilet) which made them smell perpetually damp. Also, the bath/shower arrangement in the main bedroom needs some agility and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who had a physical difficulty. The second bedroom (2 twin beds) is slightly cramped for 2 adults but good for children. The grounds were pleasant if over-looked by the surrounding tower blocks the heated pool a good size the proximity to the beach and the provision of chairs (cushions and umbrellas available for a discretionary tip) was excellent. The staff were helpful and very pleasant to deal with and on the whole this was a very clean and comfortable place to stay and one I would definitely go back to. Sadly, it has been bought and is due for demolition sometime this year and redevelopment. It's passing will be a sad day for those wishing a small-medium quiet resort experience which is reasonably priced.

Good hotel

Posted Feb 2, 2016 on Hotels
Erittäin hyvä hotelli. Rauhallinen ympäristö, sijaitsee hieman sivussa hulinoista ja yöelämästä. Yksityinen ranta jossa lepotuolit. Hotellin henkilökunta ammattitaitoista ja hotellin ja huoneiden kunnossa ei ole moitittavaa. Hieman huonot parkkitilat! Maksat parkkipaikasta, mutta et välttämättä saa autoasi hotellin pihaan mikäli ruudut täynnä! Marika & Patrik Suomi Good hotel! beautiful private beach. Hotel and rooms were very clean and nice! Only thing that bothered me was the parking space..you pay that you can park the car inside the hotel area, but if the parking lot is full you have to leave the car somewhere else.. - Marika & Patrik Finland
