I was just enjoying the view of Miami's Biscayne Bay from the beautiful Vizcaya Museum & Gardens when this colorful character came sauntering onto the scene as if he owned the place.

Statues grace the coastal line of the Vizcaya museum, one of the oldest estates in Miami. #waterlust #weekendgetaway A trip to Miami isn't complete unless you visit Vizcaya, a multimillion dollar mansion that has been decorated with gorgeous gardens. Set against the ocean, this spot has become very popular with portrait photographers for various events. Even with them in the way, stroll around the property and take in all the scents of the plants, flowers, and ocean as you disappear within all the colors. #architecture #green Venetian pool Viscaya Museum and Gardens, Miami, Florida, USA. Vizcaya is an estate that was built in the early 1900’s by James Deering. He was inspired by European architecture, specifically Italian villas, but also wanted to include traditional Florida history and materials in his home. The unique mix of European and Floridian design is so interesting and beautiful. As we drove through the gates, we felt as if we stepped out of Miami and into a totally different world. We were in awe that this estate sat literally a mile down the road from the renown skyline, bikinis, and bars of Miami.
It is open every day from 9:30 - 4:30 except on Tuesdays when it is closed. It is $18 dollars for adults, $10 for students, and $6 for children. It is worth every penny! This picture was taken right behind City Hall in Miami, Florida. This whole area is loaded with restaurants, parks, shops, marinas and plenty of night life. It is located withing walking distance from Coconut Grove. It is also located withing a few minutes drive to down town Miami which includes Bayside Market Place. It is a well guarded area by police and is heavily visited by tourist and locals alike. There are plenty of photo opps everywhere you look. Highly recommend at least a half day visit if not longer.
