Terrible check in as there is no reception. So you have to scan a QR code at the door and follow the prompts in order to get a code to open the door. You have to do all that paper work (passport, reserve number, etc) in the middle of the street! We never received the email with the code so we have to call the phone number on the door to let us in. Booking was for 7 nights. The second morning we got an email indicating that we have to vacate the room at noon because unforseen reasons. A call later they said we get the refund for the unused nights! No help, no more explanations given, no other accomodation.suggested. Just left on our own in peak season in Miami Beach.

We booked 4 nights and was called that we needed to leave by our 3rd night. Only travelers were myself my mother and 2 teens who keep to themselves. We were called that they were “closing” and needed to figure out the last night. Very inconvenient. The housekeeping lady was very nice. But everything was bad.

TERRIBLE! on arrival the sheets were dirty as well as the room. No on site staff. Refusing refund. There was weed clips and blood stains on sheets. Floors sticky. Elevator broken so you have to drag your luggage up steep stairs. No one is helpful. Door code kept not working. I wasn’t my refund.

Great location, we had a really nice room and it was huge. You are right at the beach, shopping and dining. At first you pull up and think...I am not to sure about this but it was safe and so easy to get around. Parking was very easy if you get the valet service. Well worth it. We will be back!!

If you looking to stay on the beach all day and party all night. This was the best place in earth. I will back again. So close to beach shopping food everything. Hotel person give us cooler /towels/ beach chairs. We just love it .GREAT PLACE!!!!! #Bachelorette party was amazing!

There are pix of rooms in the "hotel" website - nothing even close what do you see in reality. Misleading. This so called hotel looks like undercover bordello. An elevator is not functioning around 3-4 years (!) according to the staff. Rooms are only in the high second floor. So you with your luggage must go up using staircase with very-very steep 30 stairs.

One lamp didnt work so I couldnt turn it on. The elevator didnt work so I had to lug my luggage up the stairs. The pillows are the most uncomfortable pillows. I bet prisons have better pillows. I was tossing and turning all night trying to fall asleep.

Truly one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. You are not well-warned there is no front desk or similar service and have a completely contact-less stay. All seems fine until you cannot get into the hotel and would ideally have somewhere to store your bags before a 9 pm flight. There were also zero towels in our room upon arrival and we arrived at 10:30 pm and found this to be a very unideal situation. We sent a text to the available line around 12 am and had towels deliverers via knock at 7 am. I have also attempted a partial refund for our inconveniences to no avail. I would not recommend staying here.

The location is convenient for the beach and restaurants/bars. However, the elevator wasn't working which made it difficult with a stroller and everything else that comes along with that. Also there was a strong odor to the room and stained furniture.

The hotel was on a great spot of the Miami beach strip. The rooms where nice and had plenty of room. Downside was broken elevator and the staff not organizing the room every morning. I stayed three nights and they never cleaned my room. Also there was a homeless man sleeping at the entrance of the hotel. Not the best impression. The Tvs where not smart TV's where we could easly play netflix, Hulu or youtube. I still rate this place 3.5 because it was comfortable and right were i wanted to be..

The area around is kinda sketchy but I love the vibe of the apartment and the place. It’s like it’s own secret hideaway that’s a place for you to stay. Room is super nice too. I will definitely try to stay here again when I come to Miami in the future.

This is the worst hotel I ever stayed in. Pounding music comes from the pizzeria downstairs all day long, at least until after 10pm when I left for another hotel. The staff know this and do not tell you or give you a choice to stay in another room and do not give a discount.

The hotel was nice, clean, and close to the ocean; however, it is extremely loud. There is a bar nearby and it’s right near the South Beach clubs so there was music blaring all night long. The building is old so there is no insulation or sound barriers and I ended up getting no sleep due to extremely loud music and partied going until 4am. I appreciated the no frills aspect of the hotel and proximity to the beach, but if you want to get any sleep, do not stay at this property.

I went to this property with my husband and child, 4pm and raining. Standing with our luggage.It was a little metal door with a signage on that says the name of the hoteland an instruction to punch in a key code.You cannot get in the property without a pin code. There’s no staff in the property.I tried to follow the instruction they sent me via email multiple times but it keeps saying error/ unable to find your reservation. Tried calling the number posted at the door, nobody answered. I wasn’t going to stand there longer because its a sidewalk,We we’re blocking and it was raining. So we decided to go somewhere else. i called expedia to complain and to get a refund. Expedia called and it took them an hour to get back to me and said finally somebody answered from the properties phone number, asking where we are and that they called me multiple times to reach out and give instruction. They LIED i dont have a phone call from them I have a scrren shot of my calls and voicemails that day. I even have screen shot of their failed online pre-registering process. I sent them all to expedia to prove that I tried. Now they’re saying they want to stick with the refund policy and not give me refund. ITHACA you scammed me, you should do the right thing and give me a refund.I will not stop calling expedia until I get a refund. They have a bad rating for a reason. Check out the one with bed bugs. Stay away from this place.

We loved our stay at the Ithaca! We read the other reviews and requested beforehand any extras we needed like extra beach towels, shower towels and even an extra beach chair. Hotel provided cute beach chairs which were very useful and comfy. We did see the maintenance staff daily and they seemed very nice and friendly. There is no staff onsite to ask questions since it is an automated hotel, but they were responsive via email. The hotel is small but quaint and on the outside you would not know it is a hotel. It was literally a block from the beach. There is a souvenir shot, liquor store and pizza place all around the corner. There are many more expensive hotels nearby but this hotel is a hidden gem. I was a little disappointed we could not check very early since our flight landed so early but once we checked in things everything was great! Room was spacious, clean, bed and sofa bed were comfy, fridge was cool, a microwave would have been nice but not necessary since we rather eat out while on vacation. Bathroom was spacious, nice sink, shower had good water pressure with both hot and cold water. We were happy we asked to check out later and they were flexible so we checked out at 1pm instead on the usual 11am.

Location to beach was only good thing Place was not the cleanness. There was certainly a lot of cosmetic cover up and you can tell. It was certainly noticeable. The area at night was scary. There was not enough light around the hotel or keypad to put code in and the curb appeal was terrible. The elevator didn't work and there are steep steps to walk up with luggage.

Outside appearance was very disappointing but quite misleading. Inside was actually decent not compared to the outside. King Room was large so that was great. No housekeeping throughout my staff which was my biggest turn-off. Also, room wasn’t really clean at check in. Sheets and towels had stains. Overall it was kind of ok.

The superior queen suite was okay. I just didn’t like how small the shower is and how close the shower door is to the toilet when opening it. Less and an inch and it would have been stopped by the toilet.

Excellent Place to Stay
We had an amazing time and a wonderful stay at Ithaca Hotel in Miami Beach. I will absolutely stay here again when I’m back in South Beach!!

The elevator was broken to start and all of the room are up a long stairwell. It was noisy every single night and day with thumping in the building. The towels were tiny, scratchy and some were stained brown like self tanner. The blow dryer had bunch of dust in it and was sticky. There was a HUGE POWER LINE right along the window which is exremely dangers and would blow against it with the wind. The TV wouldnt work consistently. On top of all of this the manager would not accommodate for anything!

Be aware and take photos of everything before and after you leave! My husband and I stayed here for 1 night, and we thought it was fine until I receive an email and charge to my credit card for damage that I did not do (Broken thermostat which we didn’t even touch). Be careful of this hotel as it seems they have cheap prices but add charges once you leave.

Old hard to find building with no parking except valet which was a joke, $40 for parking & we had to carry our luggage a block because there was a car parked in the ONE spot they use in front of the place for “valet” then the same thing when we left, they parked a block away. The room was pretty clean, bed was very comfortable and the shower was great.
