Close to beach

My husband & I selected this hotel for its location in South Beach. A good Location is the best I can say about this property. Our room was very small, bathroom tiny, ladies room near pool filthy & unattended to... We will not return.... at $340 per night not a good value for what you get

We are definitely following up with our team in regards to your comments about the pool restrooms- that isn't our normal service and I apologize to hear it wasn't up to our standard by any means. And you are right about our location, it sure is amazing with the beautiful Art Deco style.. but what comes with the style, also comes the Deco reality of being a little snug. Everyone wants room on this beach that our rooms are a little on the small size. Too adorable for words! Perfect.

Perfect little boutique hotel. Location 1 block from Lincoln road and tonnes of great restaurants. 5 min to Ocean. Close but just far enough for from the storm. Free wine and great quality happy hours daily. Small rooms but did the trick. It had a South Beach feel with perfect amount of luxury, dash of kitsch, great service. In my opinion, better stay than any of the larger hotel chains at similar price. Only downside was the bikes were all in the shop getting fixed. Though there were Citibikes 1 block away they are little costly. Considering you pay $34 resort fee daily they should have compensated somehow or fixed half their bikes at a time. But small issue compared to an overall enjoyable trip!!

my first stay and I was very pleased with the staff and hotel. I was in town for miami music week. great south beach location within a short walk to lincoln road shops, ocean drive, nightlife, etc. definitely will return.

Horrible and misrepresented

Pros: The beach attendant who set up the chairs was incredibly nice. Well located.
Cons: Everything else.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon at the end of the Ultra EDM Miami Music Festival. The electronic music was already pumping in the pool area, which was closed for a major, sponsored pool party open to anyone who paid the ticket admission price. The lobby was full of people who had clearly already started partying at 12:45pm. We had to "escape" our hotel to find a place to hang out all afternoon/evening. The scene went on until about 10:30pm, and then the pool area had to be closed for guest use all the next day so they could completely sanitize the pool, the grass, the bathrooms, the deck, etc. The walls of the rooms were also paper thin, and we could hear the people coughing in the room/talking next to us all night. When we complained that we were kept awake all night and then again early in the morning by the cleaning crew outside, our payback was the offer of a free beach umbrella rental (value=$19). The overstressed staff tried, but that was a pretty paltry attempt to make up for no sleep, no access to the pool area, and the nasty crowd of outsiders. For a Kimpton Hotel, they should have warned us in advance. Would never have gone. Just an awful experience.

Cozy and intimate

Pros: Cozy room with two comfortable chairs and a very comfortable bed. Beach access is outstanding, pool is huge, warm, and fun.
Cons: Breakfast selection and service was good, but not great.
Location: Easy walking (less than a mile) to so many great restaurants and music events!
Six nights at the Surfcomber meant five days soaking up sun on the beach. It was a splendid vacation. Although Miami Beach can be wild — especially during spring break! — we found the hotel quiet and relaxing. It was a great place to read books during the day and party at night. I would definitely go back to the Surfcomber.

Pros: Direct access to the beach with hotel services on the beach. Jordan, a beach attendant, took good care of us on the beach.
Cons: There was some construction going on so hopefully this will only improve the hotel for the future.
Location: Nothing more to be said about winter on South Beach when you just came from NYC.
Had a very good stay for a few days before a cruise at the Kimpton Surfcomber. Easy check in & room was ready at a fairly early hour which was appreciated since we arrived by 10AM & were able to spend time on the beach that day. Breakfast on the hotel property was good, especially bloody Mary's.

Engaging staff, beautiful lobby, on the beach.

Pros: Proximity to bars/restaurants. On the boardwalk.
Cons: Hallways were very dark.
Location: Perfect for access to beach, restaurants, shopping.
1. Easy walking distance to most of South Beach 2. Very nice pool area with easy access to the boardwalk and beach 3. Great bar in the lobby 4. Room well done, if a bit small.
