Terrible food/restaurants, but nice property

Posted Feb 22, 2017
Pros: Staff were friendly and tried hard. Pool area was nice.
Cons: Their restaurant service needs to be fundamentally overhauled. And, I really didn't feel like there was a place to eat for children in the evening.
Location: The hotel is centrally located, but for the money, I would stay at a different hotel that is also centrally located.
This was a nice, well maintained property. The staff do their level best within their capabilities but this hotel is simply ill equipped to handle large crowds, from a management perspective. We ate on property 2 nights and in each instance, we waited well over 1 hour to receive food, and that's after flagging down someone to serve us. For my 6 yr old who ordered just macaroni and cheese, her food was virtually inedible. Servers blamed the management and kitchen and the managment blamed the servers. Meanwhile, I stuck my head in the food area to see the manager, trying to act as a food expediter and failing miserably b/c everyone's food appeared to be log jammed by the manager. Went to the beach, only to find out that they were out of towels and had been out of towels for over an hour....at 3:30 PM. Regrettably, will not return.

Great accommodations close to beach and Ocean Dr.

Posted Feb 6, 2017
Pros: The hotel was on the beach and the staff was amazing. Could not have asked for a better escape from reality.
Location: Hotel was in close proximity to lots of shops and restaurants. We suggest going to Joe's Stone Crab, Wet Willies(best fries), and Mangoes(night life)!
We arrived around 7 and was checked in promptly. Very formal. Front desk suggested Preston's (hotel restaurant) for dinner. Our room was amazing. Very clean. Keyed refreshment cabinet was stocked with chips, soda, other snacks and some alcohol. We had a king room with a balcony and ocean view, room 851. The view was amazing. We could see the beach very well and part of the city skyline the other direction. Room service was above par. We ordered in our last night, service brought it into the room and set up a place for us to eat. They even brought up bread and condiments. Afterwards they came back and cleaned everything up. The Exhale Spa was great as well. My wife got a manicure and pedicure combo and she absolutely loved the attendant. We went back the next day to use the indoor hot tub (Jacuzzi or spa). The men's and women's were separate so I could not sit with my wife. House keeping did a great job each day keeping the room clean and refreshed. Preston's food was delightful. Our first night, I ordered the All American Burger with fries. My wife ordered the artichoke and prosciutto pizza. Bring an appetite because the portions are large! Our room service was the turkey club with fries and grilled salmon. Only negatives I can say, and it did not effect our stay much, the hot tub by the pool was not working, so we had the use the one at the spa. Preston's and part of the pool area were under renovations.

Great location, but rip off with extras

Posted Feb 4, 2017
Pros: Location, in the center but still without the noise they have at Ocean Drive Great breakfast-place on the corner of the building (Aroma Espresso Bar)
Cons: Room cleaning, of course Even when it was cleaned, it was not done "with love"
Location: Ocean Drive Lincoln Street with lots of shops and restaurants Espanola Way with good restaurants Bike rental stations
The hotel is at a great location. 2 blocks from Ocean Drive, 2 blocks from Lincoln Ave. Very quiet and direct access to private beach. Nevertheless, the prices that were charged as resort fee (incl. WIFI, beach-chairs) of USD 26/d plus extra charge of USD 25/d for the beach umbrella is a rip off. It's a beach hotel! As the name states: Loews Miami BEACH Hotel. I expect the basic amenities which are necessary to enjoy a day at the beach without risking to turn into a lobster to be included in the room-rate Cleanliness: On the first day the room was not cleaned at all (we did not turn the "please do not disturb"-light on), on the 4th day the towels in the bathroom were not changed but rearranged in a way, that we (friends) didn't know, which towel had been mine/hers...

Where was I booked to stay at over $400/night?

Posted Jan 31, 2017
They put me up in the old hotel next door. Lowest floor corner up against Collins Ave. Surely their worst room , despite many others empty on the property. Can't tell you about the Loews hotel..., And what a terrible lobby they have. Except for the awesome crystal artwork behind the front desk.

Amazing experience! Great location! Hotel staff friendly, rooms clean. We did experience some issues regulating the room temperature. Other than that no problems. I would definitely stay at this location again.
