Excellent staff

Posted Jun 30, 2016
Staff was exceptional. Room was small but very cozy and inviting. The room was very clean. Nice pool and very close to the beach. The bathroom left a little to be desired but to be expected in a older hotel. It was very charming.

I loved it for what I could afford. Rooms were outdated not luxurious but I don't mind that since I wasn't there for the room.

Good old hotel

Posted Apr 30, 2016
Pros: Near the beach, Pool, wi-fi, fitness.
Cons: The TV set was small and it didn't remember the last channel.
Location: One block to the Lincoln road. Two blocks to Botanical garden.
It is good. No noise, except from crazy guests above who threw something heavy on the floor every ebening. The pool is warm enough, the little spa is great. Fast check-in, no charge for early arrival. Perfect bed. Good air conditionung system. Wi-Fi in the room.

Fabulous !

I loved the Richmond ! It really had an old world charm about it which I would not trade for a modern hotel with a cold atmosphere . You could not believe the gourmet food that came from the tiny little kitchen ! The grounds were beautiful , the pool area perfect and the little path which took you right onto the beach really made it amazing . Can't wait to go back ,

Dear Guest, We value guest feedback and regret to learn that you were disappointed with your experience at The Richmond. While we respect how you may have felt, we want you to be assured that everything at the hotel is just as it’s portrayed online. Wonderful hotel 1 min from the beach

Walked right out the pool area to the beach. The drinks on the beach was pricey, kind of odd since they make them at the hotel. Other than that great service and food.

The hotel is okay. It looks like they're trying to update it out if the 1970's while still being functional. But you're not going to Miami for the hotel, right? The room was a decent size, but we asked for a queen sized bed and they gave us two twin beds pushed together with a queen sized headboard behind it. Since it was myself and a girlfriend going, it wasn't a big deal though. The bathroom was on the small ssmall, but super low. If you were over 5'5" (which both of us are) it's quite a bend to wash your face. The shower was fine, but the toilet had no back tank, not a huge problem but strange. The pool was great - nice temperature, always clean with the exception of the ocational palm leaf floating. The pool is surrounded by palm trees though, so it's to be expected. My friend and I never used the jacuzzi. we wanted too, but the water was way too hot during the day. The only downside to the pool area was it closed at sunset, which is too bad since it would have been nice to be out there after dark. Like all the resorts on the beach the richmond have vouchers for beach chairs and had cocktails and food available for purchase while you're lounging by the ocean. Overall our experience was positive, but they hit you with a $20 a night resort fee that's not mentioned on here, so if you take advantage of their resort amenities (beach chairs, pool, towels, etc.) just be prepared to budget in another $100+ for your stay.

Greetings Kira, It sounds like you spent a great amount of time enjoying the beach and the respite of our palm covered pool! But what would one expect in South Beach. We apologize if the resort fee was a surprise, but we do have details of this featured on the appropriate websites. We are thrilled that you and your friend enjoyed your time with us and invite you to visit again soon. Yours in Hospitality, The Richmond Hotel

Great location in calm, convenient neighborhood

Posted Apr 17, 2016 on Orbitz
Pros: Everything.
Cons: A more faster, more updated computer. Mine broke en route. There's was adequate & appreciated.
Location: Loved the organic cafe & sundry store a block away. Duvall Street was interesting & a convenient walk. True for piers & excursions.
The total staff from front desk to room service were warmly efficient & helpful w/every sort of question. The pool & all other amenities were guest oriented to make the stay comfortable, casual & relaxing. Our room was superbly located w/direct access to the pool, 5 steps away, but set back w/our own deck of the French Doors w/perfect shade & protection from the wind. The neighborhood was away from the tourist noise from the bars & tour promoters. The neighborhood was interesting & charming in every direction we chose to explore the architecture, shops & beaches. The availability of bikes & off street parking made our every pursuit convenient.
