Excellent hotel close to the beach.

It was very nice experience for us and the staff were amazing, specially the Cuban guy, very attentive. We highly recommend this Hotel.

Beautiful Hotel, close to the beach

Had a fantastic time here. The staff was very accommodating & made sure everything went smoothly for me on my birthday getaway. This hotel is right in decent distance from the beach & shopping area. A lot of food options to choose from.

Please renovate!

Pros: Staff was efficient and friendly. They changed our room after we complained about the issues in the first one. The oriental garden is pretty.
Cons: Refurbish the rooms, the pool, and other amenities that are worn out and just not appropriate for the price.
Hotel has not been renovated for years. Except the lobby and a few spots, the place is old and not in great repair. We changed rooms as the first room they gave us was terrible. The bathroom door lock was broken, the windows were brown dirty, the furniture was old and worn, the whole room smelled musty. Hotel is well located and has direct access to the beach with its own set of chairs and umbrellas. Bar food is ridiculously expensive and not good - you need to break the bank for a few chips and a scoop of guacamole in a plastic cup.

Close to everything but that's the only good thing

It was ok. Got conned into a whole bunch of extra fees but hey what could we do once we were already there.

Resort fee: USD 20 per accommodation, per night The resort fee includes: Beach loungers, fitness center access, internet access, phone calls. Breakfast fee: USD 30 per person (approximately). Valet parking fee: USD 42 per night. Pet fee: USD 100 per accommodation, per stay (maximum USD 100 per stay). Rollaway bed fee: USD 35 per night". Everything that we charge is clearly stated on Expedia's website for all of our guests to read. I am sorry that you weren't aware of these fee's prior to placing your reservation.

I understand staying at an historic hotel. I get that some things for the sake of aesthetics are going to be different. What I don't get is why waste such a beautiful building with crappy details - chipping paint, doors that were marked with scuffs, filthy public areas, etc. This place needs a keen eye and some elbow grease and it could be wonderful instead it felt like a Motel 6. If it wasn't for my upgrade I was ready to walk out after 10 minutes.

Kids in the pool. Pool parties sucked.

Slow service. Kids in adult pool. Hotel not updated. Pool parties were boring.

Hotel on the beach that's where it ebds

Had a view of a roof, wonderful(obviously sarcastic). Very disappointed with this hotel. Turn the hot water on in the sink pipes mad s sound like they were going to come through the wall. Definately a leak in the bathtub, took a shower and everytime whole room was flooded, extremely disappointed with this property.

Music at the pool

We weren't crazyof the fact that music playing at the pool side and at the beach guests are allowed to play there own music under there umbrellas. It's distrurbing and does allow you to fully enjoy the environment. If music is to be played at the pool it should be calm and relaxing and low.

We rarely get any complaints on the music that is played or the volume of the music. The beach is public so we can't control what guests do on the beach.
