Miami is expensive. This hotel is older, and on side of Ocean Drive pretty far north. Checking in I got a "deluxe oceanFRONT" and I got a nice 4th FLO view of palm trees. I ended up after taxes, fees, etc. etc. WAY over my starting rate. Lot in fees (mostly an EXPEDIA hidden fee, I consider it hidden b/c they would never show me where the total came from... told me to look it up in there 20 pages of terms)... and $50 for valet.
I just wanted to pay tiny xtra for an Oceanfront is all. And it just kept going up and up. B/c it was an older hotel the room wasn't that impressive. No hot-tub. Free bicycle in lobby nice. SO... I complained about room and Bellhop went to frontdesk and got me few floors higher. So thx to him but it should have NEVER happened. There was 3 people at the pool all day, and just a few in the lobby. I don't see why they didn't put me on the 16 floor. Miami can be kinda snotty tho. Last time I was in Miami was on Ocean Drive in a small boutique that was nicer and cheaper. I recommend Oceanfronts somewhere. Had beautiful sunset and moon on ocean. NOISY too. Side of building at MIDNIGHT and 7-8 AM had people banging truck lifts, laundry baskets, supplies in service areas. There was no effort to keep quiet or do this stuff at a diff. time. I'm not kidding either. It was LOUD. BANG BANG BANG. This was on right side of hotel. But if you stay on other side maybe other hotel will do that. I actually heard nothing from other hotel on same side.

Thank you for the amount of detail you have shared with us. I certainly will look into the concerns about noise you shared. It is good to know that you enjoyed the boardwalk and bicycles we provide here on property.
